Does anything equal or exceed:

-Mad Killer

-Swordsman of all Swordsmen

?

I was thinking maybe Lady Hermit? Deaf & Mute Heroine is pretty good, but to match the above 2 is difficult... :squigglemouth:

For early '70s nothing matches the frenetic choreo of Devil's Mirror to my mind. That one was well ahead of the game.

I Keep meaning to watch Mad Killer, must dig it out of my pile if it's so highly recommended!

My top Non Shaw ones would be-

Deaf Mute Heroine

Touch of Zen

Darkest Sword

Blind Girl Flying Swallow

I watched Mad Killer last night (well the first 50mins anyway), I have to agree with Falkor, it's an superb film. Great action (courtesy of Yuen Woo Ping) and a compelling story, if it lacked anything it's a charismatic lead like a Wang Yu or Ti Lung. Can't wait for the second half tonight!

Yeuh Hua in The 12 Gold Medallions was pretty nice with the sword. I liked Jimmy Wang Yu in The Assassin as well.
