Member BlackLamaFaction Posted August 29, 2009 Member Share Posted August 29, 2009 I recently saw for the first time The Heroes AKA The Shaolin Heroes starring Ti Lung.Just an awesome story. The guy is considered a traitor to his people hated by everyone when he goes over to the ching and has to imprison and torture all his old friends and family. He never tells anyone his real plan that through torturing them he is actually training them to fight the ching.Great fight scenes as well including an end fight that goes on about 10 minutes. And then the perfectly tragic ending.Everything I love about Eastern storytelling. I would apreciate anyone's input on other films with great stories, Thanks

Member TibetanWhiteCrane Posted September 1, 2009 Member Share Posted September 1, 2009 Ninja Terminator Goose Boxer I don't think I would concur that Ninja Terminator has A GREAT STORY... more like two bad ones, mixed into a mediocre story with great action:smile: And Goose Boxer......:ooh: Well, the sex manual misunderstanding is fun, and the fights are decent, but that don't make for a great story! Member Morgoth Bauglir Posted September 1, 2009 Member Share Posted September 1, 2009 Dang someone already caught me on Ninja Terminator. I like the story, and it's one hell of a fun movie. I mean how can you not like a moview with dialogue like this- Phillip Ko- “Ninjer are supreme, and you have double crossed it, why did you do that?” Richard Harrison- “The ninjer empire is evil. I have to reform the ninjer empire. That is why I took away the Golden Ninjer Warrior.” Ko- “You’ve got 3 days, in which to return the Golden Ninjer Warrior, or else you die” And Goose Boxer I do think has a great story. I don't think I've ever seen a villain force training on the hero of the movie. Cool stuff there. And the sex book just tops off the great story. Member ThunderScore Posted September 1, 2009 Member Share Posted September 1, 2009 Dang someone already caught me on Ninja Terminator. I like the story, and it's one hell of a fun movie. It also has Wong Cheng Li in a blond wig - as opposed to a long white one, I guess...
Member Morgoth Bauglir Posted September 1, 2009 Member Share Posted September 1, 2009 I like how at the end he reveals it's a wig and he's not really blonde. As if we didn't know lol.

Member Morgoth Bauglir Posted September 2, 2009 Member Share Posted September 2, 2009 I wanted to put that line in Dragonherb, but I just couldn’t do it. You have to see Harrison say that line. Here’s some more. Lets see how fast the movie that’s so bad it’s good is spotted this time! 36th Chamber Return to the 36th Chamber The Magic Blade Snake in the Eagle’s Shadow Heroes of the East Human Lanterns Dirty Tiger Crazy Frog Shaolin Wooden Men Swordsman with an Umbrella Secret of the Shaolin Poles Dirty Ho

It's not one of the titles that come to mind! Come on, you have to realize by now it was a joke. But with dialogue like this, I can see how you could misunderstand- "Our techniques are dominant and unbeatable. Our style is unique and hypnotically elegant". Yeah, there's some deep stuff in Ninja Terminator.

Member Tosh Posted November 27, 2009 Member Share Posted November 27, 2009 The Sword with Adam Cheng is a great no nonsense story with one of the best bloodiest endings ever. Bells of Death is another favorite.
Member The Dragon Posted November 28, 2009 Member Share Posted November 28, 2009 The Deadly Strike. Chen Sing and his beloved snuff-bottle! Everytime he takes a couple hits of it, everybody dies. Lol. The characters in this film are great, and it views like a HK Dirty Dozen.

Sword Stained with Royal Blood had a good one *Really?I did not see it that way.I`m pretty sure novel is interesting but seemed movie ended up too quickly...fight scenes are exceptional as always in venom flicks:wink:.There is TV-serie of Sword Stained,it might be worth checking out Bastard Swordsman *Now that I agree 100%.I had heard good words of this and immediately when started to watch was hypnotized by story and fight scenes.Sequel was not quite so brilliant but very good it`s too. Member northern b Posted November 30, 2009 Member Share Posted November 30, 2009 There are loads but I'm going for 2 that I have only recently seen Fatal Needles V Fatal Fists- Has Wong Tao ever fought or acted better? I reallly enjoyed this and Chang Yi is just badass. The final flight on that bleak setting just added to the film The second may surprise some due to the bizarreness in places but its matching escort- Yes there is suspension of belief required but damn, Chang Lings transformation from carefree girl in heavy shoes to driven avenger is incredible. Mysterious Hat wearing villains and Japanese style sword play are all in mix
Member butcher wing Posted December 1, 2009 Member Share Posted December 1, 2009 Shaolin Temple 1 and 3 Dragons Forever 18 Weapons of China Hitman in the Hands of Buddah Buddah Assassin Kung Fu Master 1 and 2 (I personally think one of Ti Lungs best, I'm bias he's my favorite of the Shaws stable) Six Directions of Boxing Snuff Bottle Connection Fist full of Talons Snake Deadly Act these are just a few that I think have good stories and some excellent fights. Member BlackLamaFaction Posted December 1, 2009 Author Member Share Posted December 1, 2009 It's been so long since I posted this thread and I've seen so many movies since then. Another film I thought to be pretty terrific was 2 Champions from Shaolin. It stars the Venoms, Lo Mang and Chiang Shen are two former shaolin students at war with the Wu Tang. Chin Siu Hou plays a great role as a Wu tang disciple who betrays the Wu because of their support of the Qing. Ku Feng is great as a wondering scholar/ assassin who's two assistants fight like monkeys'. The film of course all culminates in a sensational battle with an especially tragic ending. I don't know how accurate the story is from a historic standpoint, since Hung Hsi Kuan and Fang Shih Yu were only marginal characters. I enjoyed the story however and I really love those disastrous endings that you would never see in hollywood.
