Member OldPangYau Posted August 14, 2009 Member Share Posted August 14, 2009 Hey, having finally seen Heroes Two a few weeks back, and learning about Men From The Monastery and Cheh's "Shaolin Cycle"... which of these films can be considered sequels/prequels? I know MFTM acts as half prequel/half sequel to HT, but apparently Shaolin Avengers is a pseudo-remake of MFTM? Too confusing. Thanks in advance for any help! I've just noticed that some stories overlap others, in regards to certain characters getting killed again, sometimes by different characters. Jing was inspired by Chang's Shaolin movies to do his own kind of semi-sequel. The New Legend of Shaolin is an unusual movie in that it could be considered as a continuation of two different film franchises. The Red Flower sect is a continuation of what was seen in Jet Li's Fong Sai Yuk movies whereas Damian Lau regurgitates his character from the Royal Tramp films. 2 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
