I read he was once married to Filipina actress Elizabeth Oropesa. They most likely met when he did a few films in over there. I believe they are no longer married.

His was born in 1951 in Taiwan

No idea his exact birthday date, I've looked through some Chinese websites and I couldn't find it.

Meng Fei is still active in TV and some local Taiwanese films until today.

If you read Chinese, you can find plenty of news about him.

Meng Fei and Pan Yin-Tze (the girl who cut Jimmy Wang Yu's hand in One Armed Swordsman) in November, 2007 during the red carpet event at the 42nd Taiwan TV Award event in Tai Pei.

no kidding, according to what I've read she's 62 in that photo. Is that right?

She is 64 this year, so you're correct she was 62 in that photo. She certainly looks like she still can pass for someone in her late 30s.

But hey, she doesn't earn the following titles for nothing (credit wikipedia)

-Said to be the Goldie Hawn of Asia due to their similarity of their ageless look.

-Almost always play roles of young, beautiful lady in most of her acting careers

-Nicked named as "Doll" (娃娃) or "Ageless Legend".[6]

-Co-starred with Mun Fei (a.k.a. Meng Fei) (孟飛) in a lot of show, people called them the "Perfect couple on screen". (Meng Fei has a baby face himself)

-1972 she married actor Chan Hung Lit (陳鴻烈) whom she co-star with in many films but divorced in 1980.

-She's dubbed as the "Queen of China TV" because of all of her TV appearances were shown dramatically on the China TV network during the golden age of the 1980s and 90s.

Pardon me if this is mis-information... I had heard Meng Fei died in the Phillipines a couple years ago. A Filipina woman I know told me, as she knew of his marriage to a Pinay .

Again, I apologise if this is incorrect. I do not want to spead false info...

Anyone know?

I guess the either Filipino woman you know got her information wrong, mixed him up with someone else or she was trying to be smart for no good.

As you can see Meng Fei is still well and alive, he was also in some tv shows last year.

Ok, I did some searching through the Taiwanese websites, plenty of news about Meng Fei and his activity these days. The man is still invited to many tv shows and has been enjoying his celebrity status and babyface looks.

Here's one article about him from January, 2009, in which he was talking about going to South Korea for some hair transplant, and talked about how he maintained his youthful look by doing exercise, etc. you get the point

He looks really good at 60.

http://www.nownews.com/2009/01/10/340-2393337.htm

There are hundreds of other articles about him in some tv shows from the last few months, but this is the one I found with photos, so no he didn't die a few years ago, he is still alive.

On the HKMDB, he is listed in the cast of 2008's " Kung Fu Hip Hop"

And that fabulous photo, thanks for posting it, is only two years old.

And thank you so much for at least the year of his birth. I have searched forever. Thank you. Meng Fei is a great performer, always been in my top ten favorites, and my god he looks super! (not sure about the hair yet though.........)

Thanks again for more information!!!!!!!!!

Meng Fei is not in Kung FU Hip Hop, there is another Meng Fei(2), but not ours. Chen Kuan Tai is in Kung Fu Hip Hop though!

Meng Fei was born in Canton China

I believe he was born in China to a Chinese father and an Italian mother. I've enjoyed him most in Five Shaolin Masters (Shaw Brothers) and Snake Crane Secret (Taiwanese production). A fine actor and kung fu performer.

Oh my friends! You are wonderful! All of you, sent information about my beloved Meng Fei! I'm glad to hear that he is well, doing some tv shows in Taiwan, or other countries, oh! and the information sent by "Wuxiawuxia" is fabulous! And the picture!

To "Wuxiawuxia": send the information in chinese, I have a group of colleagues in my University, specialized in the culture of China, that can read some of the information and maybe, we can have access to more information like the mysterious date of birth and other facts. Of course my colleagues are not available all the time, but I guess they can help in any way. Then I will tranlate on here.

To "MarsHarmony": thinking about his hair... think the same. "Ladies point of view".... :D

And agree with the consideration of Meng Fei as a good actor, performer and with the charisma (not speaking of his babyface) this "angel touch" that few actors get.

Thank you all and keep posting you make me happy!:D

Regards from the country of the tango, Argentina

The Meng Fei film catalog has very few good quality prints available, correct ratio aspect, semi-clean prints, but I would like to list the titles of his films that are in good shape.

"Prodigal Boxer"

"Young Tiger"

"Five Shaolin Masters"

"Snake Crane Secret" (on a double feature with "Eight Escorts")

"Boxers Adventure"

That is only 5 out of over 40 titles of his films that have been given the proper widescreen, at least semi clean, treatment.

Anyone know of some more good copies?????

I wish I could get them all in clean clear copies, I have many poor quality dvd's of his, just makes me want to see them right even more.!!!
