Member OldPangYau Posted June 11, 2009 Member Share Posted June 11, 2009 Just curious if anyone may have a rough list of the Shaw Brothers films to feature Wong Fei Hung in some shape or form. I know Challenge of the Masters and Martial Club have Gordon Liu Chia Hui as the younger "Drunken Master-esque" Fei Hung, while I just "discovered" Rivals of Kung Fu with Shek Kin as the villain. I just thought it was amazing that this one reality-based character was in well over 100 films, with virtually every studio in Hong Kong creating at least one film inspired by his life. Member OldPangYau Posted June 11, 2009 Author Member Share Posted June 11, 2009 The Master of Kung Fu with Ku Feng. Huh, ironic to think he'd later play Wong Kei Ying in Martial Club. Thanks! Any others, or are those the main four?

Hmm, that one sounds rather interesting... the title alone grabs my attention
Member The Dragon Posted June 13, 2009 Member Share Posted June 13, 2009 The Master of Kung Fu with Ku Feng. I actually liked him better as WFH, than Shi Chung-Tien in Rivals of Kung Fu. Then there's also Challenge of The Masters. ... and you've already mentioned those. There might be one more.
Administrator KUNG FU BOB Posted June 13, 2009 Administrator Share Posted June 13, 2009 Then there's also Executioners of Shaolin. Are you sure Wong Fei Hung is in that? I don't remember that at all?
Moderator Asmo Posted June 14, 2009 Moderator Share Posted June 14, 2009 Are you sure Wong Fei Hung is in that? I don't remember that at all? WFH wasn't at all in that movie.
Member clfnole Posted June 14, 2009 Member Share Posted June 14, 2009 Executioners is about Hung Hei Koon, who is considered the founder of Hung Gar, which Wong Fei Hung was a practioner of but other than that no WFH in the movie itself.
Guest Markgway
Ku Feng is obviously the most underrated Wong Fei-Hung.
Member The Dragon Posted June 14, 2009 Member Share Posted June 14, 2009 Are you sure Wong Fei Hung is in that? I don't remember that at all? My mistake... I was typing too fast with two films in my head. I corrected it. It's they remind me of one another due to the intros. Ku Feng is obviously the most underrated Wong Fei-Hung. Agreed. Probably the best Martial Actor, to play him.
