Guest Markgway
James Bernard wrote music for most of the Hammer movies. Although my favourite Hammer theme was this one by John Cacavas: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FCxtoNSdlLY
Member ThunderScore Posted May 30, 2009 Author Member Share Posted May 30, 2009 I liked the score to SATANIC RITES - kind of Bond Meets Dracula... I wonder if a list was ever compiled of what's been "borrowed" for use in Martial Arts Movies of the 70s-80s. Aside from other film scores (SHAFT, LIVE AND LET DIE, et al), I've heard all kinds of music - from The Alan Parsons Project and Emerson, Lake & Palmer to American TV themes from such diverse shows as IRONSIDE and the CBS Soap Opera THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS... Member Shaolivevil Posted May 30, 2009 Member Share Posted May 30, 2009 This was a good score but then again nearly all the Hammer films had good scores, IMHO. Their dark, gothic and menacing tones really magnified the suspense and horror...
