I know the theatrical is only around 97min, and the R4 Australian release reportedly contains 4min of restored footage. Not looking for a torrent download or work print. Guest Markgway Posted May 28, 2009 Share Posted May 28, 2009 It's difficult to say which version (if any?) the director's cut actually is. Woo has never been specific. All he's said is that he had to cut the film for the MPAA to gain an 'R'. Thus it's possible that the 99m unrated international cut is Woo's dir's cut (or at least the version he approved for theatrical release). The 116m version you ask about isn't a director's cut (despite fanboys proclaiming otherwise) but rather a workprint. It's an incomplete movie without music score or credits. There's no doubt that Woo would have made further reductions and changes before he was finished. This is the case with all movies. We've no way of knowing for sure what Woo wanted the public to see.
