Member vengeanceofhumanlanterns Posted April 14, 2009 Member Share Posted April 14, 2009 This Charlton Heston/Brian Keith trapper film I had high hopes for, but boy was in store for a disappointment. Brian Keith had some excellent one liners. Heston just plain sucked. Someone on amazon was describing it as so historically accurate, my god what a mis-perception. Indian's as dumb brutes who speak perfect english, no accent, broken phrasing, nothing. how could you drag awhole filming crew and cast out into the mountains in winter and just rush through it completely destroying any chance of making a serious film. A lazy, unconvincing, misleading, mess of a film. Oh ya, at least the leading man for the Blackfoot Tribe should've been native american, at the very least. I hadn't seen this film since I was about twelve years old, and I confused it with The Mother Load, which I'm gonna have to look up on amazon to see if it looks good enough to pick up.
