Member Gaijin84 Posted March 26, 2009 Member Share Posted March 26, 2009 Does anyone know if there was a Chinese title associated with this Robert Tai splice job, especially with the 1996(?) footage?
Member butcher wing Posted March 27, 2009 Member Share Posted March 27, 2009 I don't know if there is an original name, I'm pretty sure that there is but this movie was awfull, rip of Jet Li in an oversize suit. Just awful. I can't believe RZA has his picture on the front, and Wu Tang. awful
Guest Yi-Long
I remember reading about this movie in a magazine, and that magazine was hyping it up as one of the very best martial arts movies ever made, and the guys in it were all brilliant beyond belief, and everyone should see it. The name of that independent objective magazine!? Eastern Heroes ofcourse(!) What a bunch of assholes those guys from EH were.
Guest Markgway
Eastern Heroes was required reading... but with a hefty pinch of salt handy at all times. The original film was a Taiwanese basher from 1973-4 called THE BODYGUARD starring Li Chin-Kun. The profit, er, filmmakers shot new footage and incorporated it into the orignal to make a spanking new film. How Godfrey Ho of them.
