Member GoldenFist Posted February 5, 2009 Member Share Posted February 5, 2009 Everyone has a trilogy, but today I want to compare them to legendary master...Bruce Lee. Now, no one is ever going to be as good as him, and we'll truthfully no one ever will. But his movies are legendary all over, and I wanted to see what people would think other martial artist movies are Bruce Lee movie types. For example: BRUCE LEE MOVIES: *************************** JCVD MOVIES: The Big Boss ********************************* Bloodsport etc. The Fist of Fury Return of the Dragon The Game of Death Enter the Dragon So do you understand? This is for any martial artist. So Whats Jean Claude Van Dammes Big Boss? Whats Segauls Fist of Fury? The Last movie "Enter the Dragon" must be very popular. Tell me your star and their Bruce Lee movie type list. ex: "JCVD's TimeCop is his Return of the Dragon" ( not really ) - GoldenFist
Member DeathFuMaster Posted February 5, 2009 Member Share Posted February 5, 2009 Well in my opinion Drunken Master 2 would be Jackie's Enter The Dragon.

I'm not being negative, just struggling with your choice of phrases. Trilogy means 3, and I wasn't sure if you meant we picked 3 bruce films from the five first

Member DeathFuMaster Posted February 6, 2009 Member Share Posted February 6, 2009 I think he means this: The Big Boss was Bruce's Introduction, so other star's first/breakouts could be compared to that. Enter The Dragon was the most popular/international breakout so it could be compared to another actor's best film. Of course this is just what I got out of it... Guest Markgway
These threads keep getting more obscure... but I'll play along for now. Van Damme: The Big Boss = No Retreat, No Surrender >>> Debut Fist of Fury = Hard Target >>> Best Film The Way of the Dragon = The Quest >>> Directorial Debut Enter the Dragon = Timecop >>> Most Mainstream Game of Death = Street Fighter >>> Worst Film Steven Seagal: The Big Boss = Above the Law >>> Debut Fist of Fury = Out for Justice >>> Best Film The Way of the Dragon = On Deadly Ground >>> Directorial Debut Enter the Dragon = Under Siege >>> Most Mainstream Game of Death = Half Past Dead >>> Worst Film
Member The Dragon Posted February 9, 2009 Member Share Posted February 9, 2009 Jackie Chan: The Big Boss- Snake In Eagle's Shadow Fist of Fury- Drunken Master Way of The Dragon- The Young Master Enter The Dragon- Rumble in The Bronx RITB, was a breakout film, internationally for JC, and even though others were better, it still brought him mainstream in the U.S., moreso than Battle Creek Brawl. Chuck Norris: The Big Boss- Good Guys Wear Black Fist of Fury- A Force Of One Way of The Dragon- The Octagon Enter The Dragon- Code of Silence For The Octagon, the finale where CN goes to confront his Blood Brother, at the famous hidden camp, was almost similar to his showdown with Lee at the Colossium in Rome. Audiences wanted more MA action in the Octagon camp though... Maybe a longer showdown with the Japanese villian, Tadashi Yamashita. It was over too quickly. If you mean what I think you mean (directorial debut).. shouldn't Jackie's Way of the Dragon be Fearless Hyena? The thread title should say 'Pentalogy', not 'Trilogy' (oops, emacs beat me to it)
