Member niro Posted January 11, 2009 Member Share Posted January 11, 2009 My favourite type of films seem to be the martial art comedies from the 1980s and very early 1990s, I dont know why but it's just the look and style of the film from that decade combined with martial art skills and unique comedy which makes them so fun to watch. My favourites from that time are the films which starred the trio of Jackie Chan, Sammo Hung, and Yuen Biao. Along with other titles such as Pantyhose Hero and Armour of God. I'm looking to check out other films which are similar in style to the ones mentioned before, so could anyone please recommend some good films
Member SamuraiDana Posted January 12, 2009 Member Share Posted January 12, 2009 I recommend two films with Cliff Lok: KUNG FU GENIUS RING OF DEATH (aka BASTARD KUNG FU MASTER) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0081428/ Also, Yuen Wo Ping directed a lot of kung fu comedies and so did his brothers. Look up: MIRACLE FIGHTERS, TAOISM DRUNKARD, SHAOLIN DRUNKARD, YOUNG TAOISM FIGHTER. Check out Sammo Hung's films without Jackie Chan: ENCOUNTERS OF THE SPOOKY KIND ENTER THE FAT DRAGON and especially, MILLIONAIRES' EXPRESS (aka SHANGHAI EXPRESS) http://www.amazon.com/review/product/B000NVT0SY/ref=dp_top_cm_cr_acr_txt?%5Fencoding=UTF8&showViewpoints=
