Member HAZ Posted December 24, 2008 Member Share Posted December 24, 2008 Hi Folks, Recently, I had the pleasure of bring invited to a private screening of the mainland martial arts film "Pride's Deadly Fury". Before the feature, a bunch of vintage Shaw trailers were shown. I got to check out some treats like the original, Chinese trailer of Chinatown Kid, which was pretty wicked. The trailer for Battle For the Republic Of China was shown. Looks good. Hopefully it will be among the films that IVL puts out in 2009. I can't remember all of the trailers that were screened. There was Secret Service of the Imperial Court, Heaven Sword & Dragon Saber, it was a whirlwind of trailers! The one that blew me away the most, though, was a film I had never heard of previously: Curse Of Evil. Curse Of Evil looks like some crazy schitt, with Iguana hand puppets & lizard men ravaging a young beauty. It was like a softcore porno version of Creature From The Black Lagoon. IVL HAS to put this out!!! With some luck, I'll be able to post links to some of these trailers. I hope they'll find their way to youtube. peace h

Member magicpoe Posted December 24, 2008 Member Share Posted December 24, 2008 I've been trying to track this down for several years myself but I can't find a trader who either has it or is willing to trade for it. Shaw's horror releases really don't get enough credit. I bet this one is great. Maybe an official release will be available one day. Hey I thought I'd never see a legitimate release of Bewitched but that happened.
Member HAZ Posted December 27, 2008 Author Member Share Posted December 27, 2008 Just to add that the Clans Of Intrigue trailer was shown & there were some shots in the trailer that are not on the IVL DVD. I'll try to post a list of all trailers shown & the extra footage that may have been included. The trailer for Secret Service of The Imperial Court may have had some extra shots in it too. It's not unusual for trailers to have advance scenes that don't make it into the finished film. However, there was a lesbianism (?) scene in CLANS OF INTRIGUE that is in a bootleg copy of the film but is not in the IVL. This was discussed some time back when the film was originally released to dvd. SECRET SERVICE was longer than the Korean VHS and had full frontal nudity. The same scene was clothed in the Korean tape.
