Guest Markgway
I think I may have asked this before, but... is this actor Korean? http://hkmdb.com/db/people/view.mhtml?id=13905&display_set=eng Look at the number of Korean co-productions he's listed in (and even a couple of pures). Would be pretty rare for a Chinese actor to appear in so many wouldn't it? He's billed at the KOFA as Mo Sa-Seong or Mo Eun-Seong.
Member Jesse Smooth Posted December 7, 2008 Member Share Posted December 7, 2008 He could have been like Hwang Jang Lee or Yasuaki Kurata, a Chinese actor appearing in Korean movies (maybe he was earning more doing films over in Korea?). Sadly, we shall never know...

Moderator Asmo Posted December 7, 2008 Moderator Share Posted December 7, 2008 Hwang is a Japanese born (Zainichi) Korean. Not sure about Kao Chiang though.
Member ching li Posted December 7, 2008 Member Share Posted December 7, 2008 I think hwang jang lee was born to korean parents in Osaka, Japan. But then the family moved back to their home in Korea. I recall seeing this in one of the biographies on him.

Member Jesse Smooth Posted December 7, 2008 Member Share Posted December 7, 2008 Kurata is Japanese. And wasn't Hwang actually from Korea (maybe not ethnically, but still...)? I know that. I was saying as in Kurata being a Japanese actor working in HK films. The same for Hwang, being a Korean actor working in HK films. Kao could have been a Chinese actor making a living doing Korean movies. Should have worded it a bit different.
Guest Markgway
I see what you mean now. Seems to be a mystery. Kao Chiang or Mo Sa-Seong? The debate is open. lol
