My list:

(please note I have not seen anywhere near as many Shaw films as most of you guys)

1. Killer Constable. This one just feels perfect top to bottom.

2. 8 Diagram Pole Fighter. Two words: "way, way too effing bad ass".

3. 5 Shaolin Masters. My favorite older era Shaw movie. Nothing fancy, just awesome.

4. Human Lanterns. Very cool concept from the coolest Shaw director.

5. 36th Chamber Of Shaolin. Maybe overrated, but very solid and a great story.

6. Heroes Of The East. Choreography at its best.

7. King Boxer. Love the attitude in this one.

8. Mercenaries From Hong Kong. Super fun and trashy, a great action flick with zero redeeming values as true cinema.

9. Lion vs. Lion. Totally underrated it seems, the only thing keeping this from being much higher on my list is its a little too long.

10. Legendary Weapons Of China. Love the kung fu in this one.

The problem for me with Shaw Brothers lists is that I feel the Shaw studio system made for very few duds. While I might also argue that it prevented too many true masterpieces comparable to the best Japanese works, it really maintained a pretty high, consistent quality level. For me, there's not THAT much of a quality dropoff between my top 10 favorites, and my #40-50 favorites.
