Member Atherton Posted October 7, 2008 Member Share Posted October 7, 2008 http://pages.tvunetworks.com/channels/index.jsp?g=5# Not sure if you guys talked about this before. But this site has a couple martial arts movie channels. Right now they're playing JC's Miracles and I believe Kung Fu For Sale.
Member Morgoth Bauglir Posted October 7, 2008 Member Share Posted October 7, 2008 Thanks for the link. Is there any way you can choose a movie, or do you just have to choose a channel and watch what is already playing? and what is this movie on the black belt channel right now? I've never seen it. Looks kinda sucky.
Member Mark Pollard Posted October 7, 2008 Member Share Posted October 7, 2008 I just did a little research on this service which is called TVU Networks. It apparently started out as an unlicensed streaming video site for cable TV programming and has now gone legit, in case anyone is concerned about the software player download or legality of the site. Member thegoldenstate Posted October 10, 2008 Member Share Posted October 10, 2008 Thank you for posting about this thing. It's pretty entertaining to watch. As far as I can tell, there are three channels which show all sorts of kung fu movies 24/7-- good ones, dubbed ones, subtitled ones, Bruceploitation, Taiwanese cheapies/obscurities...one of the frustrating things, though, is that there doesn't seem to be any schedules available anywhere for those particular channels. Also, the movies don't begin on the hour-- they start at odd times, 10 minutes before the hour and so forth. Anyhow, so far I've caught at least parts of Thousand Miles Escort; Champ Against Champ; Bruce Lee: The Man, The Myth; Eagle vs Silver Fox; The Secret Rivals; Stoner; Half a Loaf of Kung Fu; Exit the Dragon, Enter the Tiger, Infernal Street...oh, and now as I right this one of the channels is showing...Fist of Fear, Touch of Death! I've been having fun with this...some of these movies I don't think I've seen in 25 years or so!
Member Atherton Posted October 10, 2008 Author Member Share Posted October 10, 2008 No problem thegoldenstate. I think these films are on some sort of loop, I think that's why they don't play on the hour.
Member Atherton Posted October 13, 2008 Author Member Share Posted October 13, 2008 I think I figured out a list of all the films so far being played on channel 5422 It's on a loop I believe and Secret Rivals just started, they should play/repeat in this order until more titles are revealed. KUNG FU ON SALE MAGIC KID 2 SECRET RIVALS, THE LIGHTNING KUNG FU DRAGON LEE VS THE FIVE BROTHERS FIGHTING ACE LEGEND OF A FIGHTER HERO'S BLOOD MONKEY FIST FLOATING SNAKE MACHO MAN THOUSAND MILE ESCORT SWORDSMAN WITH AN UMBRELLA SHAOLIN VS MANCHU REVENGE OF DRAGON CHIVALRY, GUNMAN AND THE KILLER STORY IN RED TEMPLE LILY DRAGON INN EXIT THE DRAGON ENTER THE TIGER BREATHING FIRE SHAOLIN DEADLY KICKS FIST OF FEAR TOUCH OF DEATH BRUCE LEE THE INVINCIBLE GUY WITH THE SECRET KUNG FU
Member ching li Posted October 13, 2008 Member Share Posted October 13, 2008 It seems that the blackbelt tv station has left. I am on the site now and I don't see the blackbelt tv station in the list
Member Rebornman Posted October 13, 2008 Member Share Posted October 13, 2008 i watched 7 movies on the 3 different channels. for some reason, when i close the window to do something else and end watching a movie, it takes away form internet connection. I tested it several times and it does it each time. I called Comcast and they report nothing wrong with my service. I stopped going to the site cuz i got paranoid. Member thegoldenstate Posted October 18, 2008 Member Share Posted October 18, 2008 Hmm, not sure what that's about, Rebornman. I haven't encountered any similar problems. ching li, the blackbelt station still shows up for me. It mostly seems to show martial arts competitions and more recent-ish (eighties and beyond) HK films. Atherton, that is some impressive detective work, thanks. I never would have been able to figure out all of those titles, but I'm not surprised that someone here was able to do so, given the depth of knowledge that people here possess. This is a very incomplete, out-of-sequence list of titles that I've been able to identify on the other (5403 Nostalgia Martial Arts) channel: Bruce Lee: the Man, the Myth Champ vs. Champ (weird Godfrey Ho flick w/Dragon Lee) Eagle vs. Silver Fox (pretty good Hwang Jang Lee one, with "Mario Chan" in the hero's role...somewhat reminiscent of a Lee Tso Nam film) Stoner (at least I think that was George Lazenby; I didn't have the patience at the time to sit around and identify it for certain) Half a loaf of Kung Fu Infernal Street (old basher that I didn't feel like sitting through) Killer of Snake, Fox of Shaolin (bizarre wuxia/fantasy-based cheapie w/Carter Wong) Kung Fu Arts (yet another bizarre historical fantasy w/Carter Wong) Mantis Under Falcon Claws (can't remember now, but think it's the same as the Mantis vs the Falcon Claws that is listed in the IMDB) Macho Man (some old basher...) Golden Dragon, Silver Snake (Godfrey Ho flick w/Dragon Lee, but set in present-day, unlike Champ vs Champ listed above) Anyhow, the films on that channel seem to be looped, as well. Who knows, maybe someday they'll install a new batch!
