Member Winfred Posted August 2, 2008 Member Share Posted August 2, 2008 After watching Leung Kar-yan in Legend Of A Fighter, I must say I was very impressed by his acting and kungfu skills. Is this movie considered his signature movie? Can you guys recommend 5 of his best films to me? Thanks.

Member Endsang Posted August 2, 2008 Member Share Posted August 2, 2008 A lot of good suggestions here. One should also see his earliest shaw movies where he mainly played villains, along with Odd Couple. My top 5 are Legend of a Fighter, Knockabout, The Victim, 2 On The Road and Warriors Two. Actually haven't seen Thundering Mantis yet.

Member Jstn Posted August 2, 2008 Member Share Posted August 2, 2008 Legend of a Fighter is up there with his best, 5 essential beardy films IMO would be; The Victim Warriors Two Knockabout 2 on the Road Thundering Mantis My thoughts exactly, also make sure you see 'Odd Couple' and Do Not miss the end fight of 'Sixty Second Assassin' (aka My Life's on the Line) - great end fight there. I also liked Sleeping Fist, thought that was a cool movie (Beardy and Sui Tien).
Member Winfred Posted August 2, 2008 Author Member Share Posted August 2, 2008 I watched The Odd Couple tonight. What a shock to see Beardy looking so evil in it!

Warriors Two Sleeping Fist Thundering MAntis Shanghai 13 Sixty Second Assassin Secret Service Hong Kong Godfather Two on the Road aka Fearless Dragons The Victim Enter the Fat Dragon
Member The Dragon Posted August 3, 2008 Member Share Posted August 3, 2008 I can't believe you guys are not going to include The Postman Fights Back! I think Beardy was great in that as well as Shaolin Martial Arts, his and Wang Lung Wei's first starring roles.
Administrator KUNG FU BOB Posted August 3, 2008 Administrator Share Posted August 3, 2008 Everyone picked my faves already. But if you watch all those and want more. Check out PROFILE OF ANGER (aka. PROFILE IN ANGER). It's a modern day flick where he gets to play with guns and motorcycles and fire. Good B-movie.
Member GwaiLoMoFo Posted August 3, 2008 Member Share Posted August 3, 2008 My Beardy favs: The Victim (my fav old school non-Shaw, Maybe greatest end-fight of all time!) LOAF Secret Service Of The Imperial Court Thundering Mantis (endfight alone!) Knockabout Odd Couple Demon Strike HK Godfather
Member Morgoth Bauglir Posted August 3, 2008 Member Share Posted August 3, 2008 Dragon you are right Beardy is great in Postman and Shaolin MA. I would have listed like 15, but I wanted to narrow it down to 10. Shaolin MA jus got beat out by HK Godfather. And Profile in Anger is a good B movie as Bob said. I love movies like Profile in Anger where everybody is extremely badass.
Member chen lung Posted August 3, 2008 Member Share Posted August 3, 2008 If you're into violent Beardy: 'Danger Has Two Faces'. Kinda liked his short roles in 'Enter The Fat Dragon' and 'New Tales Of The Flying Fox'. 'Knockabout' had zilch of his talent, really.

Member venom10463 Posted August 4, 2008 Member Share Posted August 4, 2008 HK Godfather - A great Shaw classic. The end fight will leave you speechless Profile in Anger - Wicked fights, up there with HK Godfather Thundering Mantis - Like everyone else said. The end fight alone The Victim - The fight between Beardy and The Foot Doctor ( Wislon Tong) My Life's on the Line - Great old skool classic. You won't be disappointed I would recommend getting all the titles everyone's suggested. Beardy is the MAN when it comes to hands on fighting. Member CrazyFrog Posted August 4, 2008 Member Share Posted August 4, 2008 From what I've heard, it sounds like his modern stuff, like the real Kung Fu Series, is pretty good. I also think he is more badass with the beard on, usually as the bad guy! Whaddya think?!
