Received my The Warrior Trilogy blu ray set from MM, Farewell My Concubine 4K UHD Criterion, Mobile Cop Jiban and two books -- Kim Jee Woon (Korean Film Directors Series) & Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In photobook from HK. But I'll definitely be deep diving into the Warrior Trilogy set first.

Got mine today and this is a great presentation of a non Shaw Brothers, Golden Harvest movie highly recommended.

Here are some movies of the last 2 mounths. Not as much as usual but i hold some money back for the upcoming highlights.

One thing i must mention. The new Blu of The Crippled Masters have some issues. First the rawscan - audio is out of sync. Second the remastered version is heavy cropped at the bottom. If you watch the rawscan you can see they used a french-dutch 35mm copy (as they run in Holland, Beligum). You can see this because of the french- dutch hardsubs in the movie. This part is cropped away and it is about 20 % of the picture !!! It is not as painful as it sounds (quality of the remastered version is very good more picture on the right-left side and for the first time you can see what is happening in the nightshots, first time chinese audio with english subs.... ), and i know they did it because the mainstreet buyer over at amazon would not tolerate subs in the picture. But it is a pity that the audio is out of sync for the rawscan especially for the fu fans wich have no problems to see beat up copys in full scope with hardsubs.

I bought this very same VHS of Der Karate Clou (I don't remember the English title) a few years ago for a very cheap price! I also got the VHS of Payment in blood for 2 euros!

Der Karate Clou english titel is Conspiracy of Thieves. Had the VHS 20 years ago. After two of my highend VCR where fixed last mounth i was thinking about some tapes i had to copy them and remaster them a little. Now i need a new master pc to make uncompressed avis again. The german tape is cut  3:21 minutes but most conversation. I still have a copy of a custom english version Jamal or FLK made. The other tape Der rote Tornado is For Whom to be Murdered (made a custom 10 years ago with a copy of the uncut english friendly libanese tape to make the german full scope 10 minutes cut version uncut). I will do a new better version here too because i love this movie very much. If you still buy VHS there is in germany a big seller with very good prices: https://film-retro-shop.de/

I really enjoy that one too. If I recall it was more of a hard crime thriller than a martial arts flick but with some brutal action.

Not @Takuma but the blu ray below HEAT is a Nikkatsu Roman Porno called Woman's Trail: Wet Path directed by Kazunari Takeda & the other one is just the blu ray of Somai's Love Hotel taken out of its Third Window Films slipcover.

Love Hotel features what I consider to be not only Takashi Ishii's best screenplay, but one of the best screenplays ever written anywhere.

It's been a long time since I saw Woman's Trail, but I remember comparing it to Wong Kar-wai films. Actually I was watching Neon Kurage (1973) earlier this week and the absolutely fantastic soundtrack by Kan Mikami in that film reminded me that I've been meaning to buy Woman's Trail (he's the lead actor in it). Good that I remembered: the BD went OOP a little while ago and now is probably the last chance to get it for a reasonable price. Though this film would be perfect for Third Window as well.

I really enjoyed Woman's Trail as well, you're right Kan Mikami is fanastic. I was fortunate to get a custom subtitled version ripped from that very Japanese blu ray. I will definitely get a physical release if TWF does come out with it.

Of course it had to be the limited edition, signed 40€ mediabook, I just couldn't settle with a used DVD that would cost me less than 20€.

Also received the Sword Identity and One and Four. One and Four is a very nice Tibetan thriller which went under the radar. Glad it got a physical release.
