Member teako170 Posted May 17, 2008 Author Member Share Posted May 17, 2008 Thanks Teako awesome, especially after hearing about Wong Yu's passing, I'm going to see how this prints out:cool: No prob. It was scanned at 150 and resized to 300. If it doesn't come out as good as you want, I'll rescan it as a true 300dpi. I always wondered what this film's finale might have been like if Fu Sheng had not died. I'm guessing that Kara was written into the finale to replace Fu but only Pops may know that answer.... Moderator Karlos Posted May 19, 2008 Moderator Share Posted May 19, 2008 What a great pic!! There's a touch of sadness to it, knowing what was to happen soon after to Fu Sheng. The original ending, so I read, was to have had Fu Sheng's character snapping out of his madness and rejoining the battle alongside Gordon - alas, we'll never know... RIP Wong Yu. It's my first post in this forum, and I'm very glad to be here with all of you. I love Fu Sheng, specially in this film. In my country, Argentina, is very difficult to get the Shaw Brothers films, besides the fact that some years ago we can see those treasures thru the Metro Goldwyn Mayer licence to Latinamerica, we were unable to watch and discover the marvelous Shaw world. And agree with you wondering what the film's end could have been if Fu Sheng had no died. Everytime I see the film I cry. Great film, Fu Sheng fenomenal actor and martial artist, one of a kind, unique. Sorry my english, I try to do the best I can. Regards! Member Gaijin84 Posted March 24, 2009 Member Share Posted March 24, 2009 Man, what I wouldn't give to have been involved in this era of films. Look at the talent gathered in that picture... must have been so creatively stimulating. Not to mention that everyone looks so happy. It's definitely sad to think what was about to happen. Member Alexandra Posted March 26, 2009 Member Share Posted March 26, 2009 Welcome to the forum Alexandra. I just watched ' Deadly Breaking Sword ' tonight, Fu Sheng is great in that one as well. Thank you Silver Fox! I have not seen Deadly Breaking Sword yet, as I said, the films of the Shaw belongs in my country to a cable broadcasting, and we are praying all the time for more films in the schedule tv planification (at least, the Metro Goldwyn Meyer shows ten films per month, including repetitions) I know that I can buy the films where Fu Sheng was the protagonist, but is very expensive (fees, charges and other) because those merchandise doesn't exist in my country. Another big problem for us is the time assigned to this films: 05:00 a.m, or 06:00 a.m., or 11:30 a.m.... it's quite difficult, because it's not prime time. Regards! Member Iron Boat Posted March 26, 2009 Member Share Posted March 26, 2009 Hate to be a dissenter but Deadly Breaking Sword leaves much to be desired for me, It seems like it should be great but is a bit on the dull side. Fu Sheng's character seems strange in that film.
Member BaronK Posted March 26, 2009 Member Share Posted March 26, 2009 I'm the same way about DBS. It seems so unfocused because of the inclusion of FS's character. If it were more straightforward and about Ti Lung's. Wei Man's, Shih Szu's and Ku Feng's characters, you would have had something. It would have been more linear and focused. FS's character doesn't match anything that goes on in the picture and all of his doing's(casino, Lilly Li's unnec. character, etc) pull the movie into an unwelcomed direction. It doesn't bloody fit and it's jarring to what could have been a smooth picture. TL gets CWM after a duel. KF saves him. KF wants to get back at TL. Helps CWM in order to do so. SS? Why, she's after KF for reasons we don't know right off the bat. You got a movie with focus and purpose right there. Where the f does FS come into this? Member Iron Boat Posted March 26, 2009 Member Share Posted March 26, 2009 Right, exactly, Fu Sheng is in the film but has absolutely nothing to do with the actual plot. And what's with that scene with the well!! He should of been happy to have a cutie looking after him.

Alexandra (by the way Alexandra is my real name, such a coincidence!) Alexandra, Welcome to KFC Forums! Always love to hear the lady's point of view on things. Other excellent Fu Sheng movies: 5 Shaolin Masters (awesome) Heros Two Legendary Weapons of China 10 Tigers from Kwangtung (one of my all time favorites) Shaolin Temple (SB version) Might be easier to get a universal DVD player so you can order the movies you want and watch then when you want to. Just a suggestion, not sure if you have one or not.

Might be easier to get a universal DVD player so you can order the movies you want and watch then when you want to. Just a suggestion, not sure if you have one or not. Hello Tanaka and thank you! I saw: - Heroes Two (amazing, fantastic, I looooooooooove him) - Shaolin Martial Arts - Men from the Monastery - Shaolin Temple - New Shaolin Boxers - The Brave Archer (I, II, III and "his mate") - Magnificent Wanderers (absolutly crazy, I laugh very hard) - Heroes shed no tears - Five Shaolin Masters - The avenging eagle - Ten Tigers of Kwantung - The Proud Twins - Return of the Sentimental Swordsman - Legendary Weapons of Kung Fu (amazing intervention of Fu Sheng in the movie) - Treasure Hunters (oh my God, crazy and lovely, I laugh until die) - Seven Men Army - Life Gamble - The Eight Diagram Pole Fighter (I cried all the film along) As you seen, a lot of sacrifice! But what a pleasure! It's worth the pain! I'm waiting for the others. I have a DVD recorder in my PC and a universal DVD connected to my TV, so I can download some films from the net, but the quality sometimes is a disaster. I put the film in a folder, then I convert it with a special Windows application, then I burn it. That's all. But I can't find all I want in the net, you understand. And concerning to ordering the DVD from US or Europe, as I said, is very expensive, our change is a nightmare (1 dollar = 3,70 pesos) Yes I know my work downloading films it's like a "pirate thing" but I have no choice. So, I'm always looking for Fu Sheng's pictures, "desesperate Fu Sheng maniac" . And wait for more messages until I can post a new thread...hehehe, you will see the "female point of view" See you! AH! of course, in the Forum comes people from all over the world...and is easier for those people to collect merchandising, memorabilia, etc. Thanks Thanks Thanks! Member SadShawFan Posted April 22, 2009 Member Share Posted April 22, 2009 Alexa, OK! You might find this magazine useful (albeit one of the early ones in German, there will be a English language version soon). Just scroll down and click the Fu Sheng magazine title to download the PDF of the magazine. http://www.shaw-brothers-reloaded.com/html/southern_screen_magazine.html Also, the Shaw website www.shaw-brothers-reloaded.com has thousands of images and stuff. There is a English and a German website version and you will almost faint in terms of Fu. Enjoy!
