Member Tosh Posted April 17, 2008 Author Member Share Posted April 17, 2008 Cool man:D Shanghai museum was awesome, all the old dynasties art and the Chinese ethnic section, I think I could of spent a week in there looking at everything. I'll post some from the Yuyuan Gardens soon(actually the first pick in my last post is from there).
Member Shaolindogma Posted April 18, 2008 Member Share Posted April 18, 2008 yeah post more. Absolutely stunning. I can't believe they let you take pictures in the museum, unless you had a spy camera. They're like Natzis in american museums, i've seen security make old women cry. Member Tosh Posted April 24, 2008 Author Member Share Posted April 24, 2008 I tell you Sdog it's very relaxed there(in China in general), you couldn't take pictures with the flash on for the paintings and scrolls. I guess I'm going to have to take a boat there next with gas prices like they are:rolleyes: Maybe I'll just take my double bass and get a job in a hotel or something:cool: No one else has been to Asia? Member venoms5 Posted April 26, 2008 Member Share Posted April 26, 2008 No one else has been to Asia? I was supposed to go with my Chinese boss at the time. We were going to China, Taiwan, Hong Kong....but I ended up not going as his reasons for me going were different from my own. Simply gorgeous pictures as always Tosh. Look forward to more from you or any other contributors.
Member Tosh Posted April 30, 2008 Author Member Share Posted April 30, 2008 You should go if you get the chance Venoms5, once you get there it's cheap, not sure what will happen after the Olympics but one US dollar is about 7 Yuan right now, you can get a hotel for $50 a night and a cab ride across town is 3 bucks, food is cheap if you stay away from the restaurants that cater to Westerners, I'm sure the Hong Kong dollar is more expensive but I still want to go there. Member Poelie Posted October 20, 2008 Member Share Posted October 20, 2008 Just got back from a really wonderful trip to China. It was a joy to visit Beijing and a lot of other wonderful places in Shanxi, Shaanxi and Henan provinces. I resized some pictures from a too short visit to Shaolin Temple. If you want, take a look in my profile. If anyone is interested I could post more pictures. Poelie

Member Yang Wu Liang Posted January 19, 2009 Member Share Posted January 19, 2009 Good stuff! Hey Tosh is that Suzhou in your photos? What a beautiful place - kind of like a Chor Yuan film come to life! I'm lucky enough to have a Chinese wife and a house in Northern China, I haven't been as much as I'd like because of work but I'll be going back soon for a month or two! I couldn't find too many decent pics without my ugly mug on but here's a few from Beijing, Qin Huang Dau and Southern China...
