So I'm watching this for the first time.  I'll reserve my final thoughts until I finish it up with tomorrow's session.  But I was pleasantly surprised to see the Wooden Men Alley represented.  I had been under the impression that this concept was unique to Shaolin Wooden Men, which was released one month earlier.  Can someone enlighten me to the origin of this concept?  Was there really such a fixture in the actual Shaolin Temple?  Is it folklore?  Or did both movies rip off something earlier that I haven't seen?

To answer an old question in this thread regarding the identity of the hidden Master who teaches Chi Kuan Chun some Kung fu, the cast on hkmdb (that I recently checked) reveals that it's the old monk in the kitchen.

All I know is that Shaolin Temple is one of the few "star-studded" films I enjoy watching.  In most cases, I like features to focus on one or two stars at the most......BTW, I count the Venom Mob as one.  :D
