It got mixed reviews since its release in Mainland China last week. I keep hearing Donnie's acting being mentioned alot (it's great, he's really improving etc) as well as making most of it during his action scenes. I still look forward to this, despite the review (don't fall for things that easily).

The fights are gritty, unglamorous, much like Warlords. They're pretty short. And wearing those heavy armours must have impeded movements. There weren't anything that really stood out. The forest fight against the invading king and prince (Li Yuan - should be him, but can't be sure - his face is pretty much all covered) is not bad but again pretty brief. The Donnie Yen vs 100 is just a mess. The movie itself feels so familiar, so odd - it's a mixture of the recent period films.
