I am looking after this Chen Kuan Tai flick. I didn't hear the best but hope there is anyone who can tell me something about it. :)

I've been needing to watch it again but it has to do with Chen Kuan Tai assembling a group of various fighters to protect a General. Fan Mei Sheng is one of the 'Tough Guys'. Didn't really strike me as overly memorable but like I said, I do need to watch it again. Saw it on tv years ago as KUNG FU HELLCATS. If you are a Chen Kuan Tai fan, you will want it in your collection regardless. It's also a modern style movie along the lines of BOXER FROM SHANTUNG. Not in that films league mind you, but similar time period more akin to BFS sequel, MAN OF IRON.

Thx, I just saw the trailer. Looks like you said. The same director like at BFS (co.director) & MOI and it goes in the next round. :D Yes, as CKT fan I don't come over to see it.

Nice, I will buy it. :)

This film will be worth the purchase. I feel it's also reminescent of The Savage Five, with second tier stars, outside of CKT. Enjoy, and tell me what you think.

This was a bit of a hidden gem for me. I like this era of Shaw basher movies, and I liked the Republican setting for the story. Fan Mei Sheng gets to showcase his stuff more in this than in most of his other movies, and I enjoyed his character as being from a martial arts escort family business, at a time when they were becoming obsolete---but he was needed for one last mission. And the five guys fighting the hulking, giant judo master at the end was pretty cool.

Some of the settings reminded me of The Boxer From Shangtung. It is worth purchasing. It's a good movie.

I liked this one a lot especially as a fan of Fan Mei Sheng. I like all of his contemporary movies and this one is right on the borderline because it atleast has cars and guns but it's not "groovy/funky." It was really action packed and had some nice twists from what I remember. Ku Feng was the enemy commander and Ling Yun was the general. I would have liked to see them fight but I don't think they did. Not to mention they used all the best old music. I think it's definitely a hidden gem.

Been a while since I watched this flick along with BFS(what a bloody ending!) and Man of Iron, thanks to this thread it's got me interested in revisiting them. :) I remember it was interesting seeing the Judo player from Heroes of the East show up as another heavy in Five Tough Guys.
