Member The Dragon Posted April 9, 2008 Member Share Posted April 9, 2008 What about those still-inserted shots of chatracters with their eyes open, by Mr. Chang Cheh, everytime an actor dies? There has to be stock footage, awaiting a call...
Member peringaten Posted April 9, 2008 Author Member Share Posted April 9, 2008 Pai Piao has an extendable sword against Ko Fei and the monks in the first test(where he also pulls out a pair of exploding dice near the end) Must be it then. Cheers.
Member peringaten Posted May 23, 2009 Author Member Share Posted May 23, 2009 The masks from Masked Avengers, reused at least once during a comedic scene in Fake Ghostcatchers.Just rewatched this; spotted a flashing-eyed statue used in Boxer's Omen... Bet those costumes were used in a few other productions too.
Administrator KUNG FU BOB Posted May 23, 2009 Administrator Share Posted May 23, 2009 The wrought iron, self-standing candleholders from the training rooms in THE FIVE VENOMS. After drawing them, they were firmly implanted in my memory, and I have literally seen them in 6 out of 10 Shaw films I've watched since.
Member spearman lo tat Posted May 25, 2009 Member Share Posted May 25, 2009 considering the carnage done by thee weapons and the bloodthirsty nature of the two characters using them, i think Fan Mei Sheng's double axes from All Men Are Brothers were reserved and kept preserved in Shaw-blood just for Chiang Sheng's use in Kid with the Golden Arm. Member mwesley@morehouse.edu Posted May 27, 2009 Member Share Posted May 27, 2009 Which Shaw flicks raid the props warehouse to grab familiar props to slap back on screen again? Can think of three... The ultimate sword, one of the martial world's greatest treasures, that tasty eagle blade from Supreme Swordsman, now getting chopped in two by Wong Yue with a dagger in Tales Of A Eunuch... Ever wonder what happened to that coat of nails Lo Meng got to wear in 5 Deadly Venoms... moved resident to the villains' torture lair in flunky comedy-kung effort Fighting Fool. 50 foot gorilla, the Goliathon himself, Mr. Mighty Peking Man, now loaning out his rubbery face to Disco Bumpkins for an ever vastly more scary disguised disco-punk gang member. What else? Wow!! That would be interesting to know where are all the props. Those white suits they wore in 5 element ninjas, those golden bracelets Lo meng wore in Kid With The Golden Arms, any of the poles and swords from Ten Tigers from Kwantung, etc..... Could they be at the old Shaw Studios? Please find out!!!!!
Member mwesley@morehouse.edu Posted May 27, 2009 Member Share Posted May 27, 2009 How about the outdoor pub that's been used in 10 Tigers from Kwantung, Crippled Avengers, etc. or the casino used in 10 Tigers, Rebel Intruders? Yea i would have loved to sitting there eating with Lo Meng before he got arrested!
