Is there any further info as to whether the mediabook release of Militant Eagle will have English subs?

Just got this today- the short version (assume the german cinema version) is german audio only, the longer version has an english dub option, it's also got chinese but only german subs, no english.

I wish the real KUNG FU ZOMBIE with Billy Chong would come out restored on Blu. Dying for a decent copy of that. The best I’ve seen is the (not so) legendary kung fu bootleg label Ground Zero’s 2002 DVD, from their (not so) highly regarded Black Belt Theatre series, featuring a (not so) gorgeous non-anamorphic letterboxed transfer, looks like a VHS PAL-to-NTSC conversion — remember those days, lads? Such amazing quality standards.

My copy shipped out from grooves on the 26th of May and according to the tracking # from the Netherlands, should arrive this Friday. I also have Militant Eagle mediabook and the two Eastern Grindhouse Double Feature blu rays in my cart but still afraid to pull the trigger until I find out if they are English friendly.

I suspect Militant Eagle and the two grindhouse double features will have English dubs based on the fact that the German DVDs did.But yes, need that confirming before pulling the trigger

I know TVP lost their license from Celestial a couple years ago but looks like it's been renewed as they teased they have more upcoming Shaw titles to announce.

With Spectrum getting into Shaw and Arrow and now TVP getting the license back, is it fair to say that Celestial have lowered the license fee recently? A couple years back if you asked people involved with boutique labels about doing Shaw they literally winced before telling you Celestial wanted outrageous sums for mid tier titles.

The license fees that some of these distributors ask for are ridiculous at best. They won't blink an eye to ask for $10k for some obscure title. I'd argue that is also part of the problem (among plenty others) we don't see a lot of Kung Fu classics released on any physical media. I mean you can do the math... Just to break even. Not to mention they'll put restrictions on you in terms of country, language, subtitels and god knows what.

@Drunken Monk already answered your question, but I wanted to chime in with: They're both very different films, and also both fantastic! Right up there with the best of the "Monkey Style" movies- SNAKE IN THE MONKEY'S SHADOW, IRON MONKEY (1977)*, and FIVE SUPERFIGHTERS. I highly recommend you see them both. And welcome to the forum @wmcguire18.

* I'm a huge fan of the '90s IRON MONKEY too, but it's not a "Monkey Style" movie.

Both are stellar looking covers, I would be hard pressed to choose between them. I've seen the third white cover variant and it's okay but these two are the best of the bunch. Chi Kuan-chun sure was ripped! Very low body fat that's for sure!

I agree, and it's difficult for non German speakers ti recognize the movies, especially if they aren't too familiar with the mentioned movie.

Same for Militant Eagle,where did they find this German title ! It's ok to keep the original title, everybody will know that it's a German release due to the German dub, so why bother to search such strange German titles ??!! I can say the same about the French or other languages titles.

Pretty sure this is Project S, not Supercop or Police Story 3. I certainly hope so,my copy is on the way.

Mega Cop has been the German title of Project S / Once A Cop since its original VHS release in 1995, though
