Upcoming English-friendly GERMAN DVDs & Blu-Rays

This title was already released on dvd a couple of years ago in germany.. under the title of Die tödliche Rache.

The print was just the Eastern Heroes dvd cropped and re-encoded widescreen.

Hopefully this new dvd is a new 2:35.1 widescreen print… otherwise it's pointless.

although thats new because the real german title was "die tödliche Rache" (the deadly Revenge).. at least when it came out on VHS

Other websites also mention aspect is 1:33:1 but as none have pic of backcover there is still hope it`s wrong information and will be widescreen. Wish it will be that, Victim is my fav oldskool sammo after Magnificent Butcher. Tho some are unseen yet like pedicab driver and knockabout.

sometimes their initial specs aren't correct-on their previous release german audio only was listed until late on,when english was added to the spec.

I"m not 100% sure but I think The Vengeance Pack will release The Golden Mask on blu ray next.

Also the small german label AVV posted a restored trailer for Mission Thunderbolt…. hopefully the movie is coming up too… I never watched it but it looks pretty crazy.

I guess that the 165mn of running time mentioned includes the running time of Ghostly face and of the bonus film ? What is the English title of the bonus film, please ?

Also, I got a German language dvd version of Ghostly face from Lee Leroc Filmworkshop that mentions that it's uncut, but compared to the French dvdr I have, it misses the beginning of the movie with all the " folklore " scene...

Is the AsiaLine movie uncut too ?

A  number of Bruce Li movies have been re-released in mediabook format- hideously expensive for what i'm sure are the existing available transfers- but each contains a bonus movie which i'm curious as to what they may be.

Unfortunately it's still showing as 1:33:1 ratio.Really hope it's wrong but i'm not too hopeful.

maybe it's the same old letterboxed print…. which is technically a 4:3 aspect ratio.

The Victim in 2.35 would be great, if unlikely, but even then, no subtitles exist for the film as yet, only dubtitles.

Lee from bruceleeclones has an early copy of The Victim, unfortunately it's reported to be the same old print 😥

From what I've been told from people who now own this German version it's the same as the older print version. Although there is a 70 minute extra showing loads of trailers.

Hopefully it may be anamorphic at least? cropped but anamorphic would be an improvement.

Even the Chinese subtitles that exist online for it seem to be a straight translation of the dubtitles. I've never seen any of the old VCDs, so can't comment on the subtitles on those (if they had Chinese subs, I can't actually recall).

That's particularly weird, but the way old kung fu movies are treated, nothing surprises me.  

Can only hope one day a proper 2.35 remaster comes along. 

Then it might be worth doing a new sub translation.
