Member Gaijin84 Posted January 6, 2009 Member Share Posted January 6, 2009 Kind of related to this... did this ever really come out on DVD from Crash Masters? I can't find a copy anywhere for sale, either used or new. I've also seen multiple covers which makes me wonder if it was every released. Has anyone seen this and is it worth pursuing? Decent cast including Angela Mao and Chen Kuan-Tai...
Member tdb Posted January 6, 2009 Member Share Posted January 6, 2009 I don't remember ever seeing it (or seeing it mentioned). I must have blinked. Here's an ad sheet: Monkey Wars Searching by UPC (669657484320) offers nothing that looks particularly trustworthy... I'm thinking it was never released, but that doesn't mean that a smattering of copies may not have escaped into the wild.
Member gsk Posted January 7, 2009 Member Share Posted January 7, 2009 Crash never did a transfer for this film. So no copies were ever done up.

Member Topgun Posted January 9, 2009 Member Share Posted January 9, 2009 Hi guys, I was the original poster back in early 2008, however, I think it was Forklor, who said something that (if someone could backtract this thread) because Crash did not offer him enough money for the source, that's why he pulled out the deal with Crash. I would love to get a hand on this one. Could someone here re-track this thread again...webmaster, could you? Thanks Topgun
Member Yang Wu Liang Posted January 9, 2009 Member Share Posted January 9, 2009 Monkey Pilgrims To The West isn't a bad fantasy film but it relies more on special effects than martial arts. It's fairly typical retelling of the Journey To The West Story and the lead actor makes for quite a good Monkey King. The big names (Chen Kuan Tai etc) only really get cameo parts though. I think mines the flk print which is widish with burnt-in subs and although it isn't glass it's watchable.

Member Topgun Posted January 10, 2009 Member Share Posted January 10, 2009 Thanks, GSK for jumping in to clear the mud. And my apology to you, Falkor for I thought it was you. I also want to expand the discussion to say...we probably need both Part I & II if you want to see the whole story. I would pray that someday someone would jump in to give us these two titles. How long that would take depends on many of you out there who is willing to share yours to us. Thanks guys
