Guest Markgway
None of these films are connected. They just tagged on NRNS 2/3 for western distribution. Not that they were released theatrically in HK, but the original titles are simply Raging Thunder and Blood Brothers.
Member gorhama Posted April 9, 2008 Member Share Posted April 9, 2008 I'd just love to have the movies on DVD here in the US!!
Moderator One Armed Boxer Posted April 9, 2008 Moderator Share Posted April 9, 2008 Alex you can get all 5 NRNS movies in this Australian box set which came out at the end of last year: http://www.ezydvd.com.au/item.zml/796120 I presume they are the uncut versions as the previously released Australian DVD's have been uncut, but if anyone could confirm this that'd be appreciated!

Member AlbertV Posted December 3, 2008 Member Share Posted December 3, 2008 Okay, I got this little story to tell you. On a class trip to Washington DC when I was in the 8th grade, I had bought this movie at a mall in DC on VHS (Starmaker re-release) for $9.99 and well, the bus we were on had a VCR. I had no intention of opening the video until I got home, but some of my classmates at the time were Van Damme fans and well, I ended up playing the video on the bus. Some liked it, some thought it was cheesy. LOL Wow...that was 15 years ago now that I think about it.
Member The Dragon Posted December 4, 2008 Member Share Posted December 4, 2008 was that a lil' short, yellow bus, with kids wearing helmets Albert? LMAO! Just kidding.
Guest Markgway
The DVD version is the original version. The old UK tape was a re-edit done for the American market. They cut many scenes and changed the music (even composing a new theme song). Exclusive to the UK release were a couple of censor cuts (as can be seen - or not - in the clip). Member Cognoscente Posted May 27, 2021 Member Share Posted May 27, 2021 On 3/31/2008 at 3:13 PM, The Running Man said: I would love to have the US version on DVD. It is a far superior version of the film than the "original" version. Better music, better editing, and even better print (my old VHS of the US version still looks better than the Australian DVD which is of the "original" version). Ironically, this is one of the few instances where the US version of a HK production is superior to the director's cut.
Member AlbertV Posted May 27, 2021 Member Share Posted May 27, 2021 At least Kino Lorber Classics released the film on both DVD and Blu-Ray with both cuts available!
