Member AlbertV Posted February 4, 2008 Member Share Posted February 4, 2008 I've seen a lot of the classic kung fu movies and I can only think of Jackie Chan doing the famous Hong Kong spin in The Young Master in his fight against Hwang In-Shik. For those who don't know what I am talking about, the Hong Kong spin is where person #1 would kick person #2 and person #2 would react by jumping and in mid air spin into a 360, 540, or 720. They use this move in a lot of the modern day films, but can anyone else think of any classic kung fu movies where this technique was used? I think the Young Master spin was a 720-degree spin. Member Endsang Posted February 5, 2008 Member Share Posted February 5, 2008 Yeah the JC Stunt Team are particulary big on that movie. I think he even demonstrate it as a part of his team's basic repertoire in his documentary. I remember it being done a lot in DM2 and Police Story. As for classic movies, I'm not really sure, as I haven't really thought about it. I think it was done in Monkey Kung Fu though, starring Ching Siu-Tung. It would suit his classic style of choreographing. It has been done in other Shaws, but can't imagine it has been much more than a 360.
