Guest Markgway
Cinemagic is correct. MAOS is a Mainland Chinese production, which Shaw Bros distributed.

Member venomchamber Posted February 3, 2008 Member Share Posted February 3, 2008 SB must have done more than just distribute the film. I suspect they financed the project (much like "Battle For The Republic Of China") and supervised the post-production as this film has all of the Shaw's unique sound effects of that period that weren't heard again after the studio closed. Member tai_shin_mun Posted February 3, 2008 Member Share Posted February 3, 2008 wasn`t Liu Chia Liang action director in this one?
Member kungfusamurai Posted February 6, 2008 Member Share Posted February 6, 2008 Wasn't it weird that Pops decided not to make an appearance in this flick? If his name wasn't in the credits, you might not even know it was one of his films. I haven't watched it for a while now, so I don't recall if it features his trademark slow mo-sommersaultsthrough-the-air shots. Was he camera shy on this flick, did he think he would stick out too much amongst the mainland actors, or perhaps did the production company (not Shaws) insist he stay off screen so he wouldn't steal the limelight from the mainland Chinese actors?
