Member daisho2004 Posted January 23, 2008 Member Share Posted January 23, 2008 That is good news, I for one have never seen any of the Red Peony films yet, I heard they are very good movies.
Member Yakuza954 Posted January 23, 2008 Member Share Posted January 23, 2008 Yeah, but I don't ever remember Wakayama's character ever making me go "Wow, kick ass!" during the series. He was more of a funny, go lucky-guy, sort of like a stark contrast from the character he portrayed in Lone Wolf and Cub and probably closer to the majority of roles he had in Japan. Maybe he finally lets loose in this series?
Member ToothbrushFu Posted January 23, 2008 Member Share Posted January 23, 2008 Yeah, but I don't ever remember Wakayama's character ever making me go "Wow, kick ass!" during the series. There's one scene in one of the earlier Red Peony films (can't remember which one - 2 or 3?) where our heroine is getting set up as being a cheat in a card game and Wakayama walks in, sees what's happening, gets pissed off, and starts judo-flipping and stabbing guys. Its a short scene but let's you know that his character is a badass and not just a clown. Maybe the spinoff movies will show a bit more of that?
