Member AlbertV Posted January 17, 2008 Member Share Posted January 17, 2008 I rented this last night. It's the prequel to Takashi Miike's ultraviolent thriller Ichi the Killer. It was quite an interesting shot on video film with Nao Omori reprising his role as Ichi and how he came to be that way. The movie had bare knuckle brawling from the character of Dai (played by Teah), joint locks used from the villain character of Onizame( played by Koji Chihara) and for those who have seen Ichi the Killer, Omori does do some of his kicking again. Not as graphic as Ichi the Killer, but it does have some graphic violence and other things in it. On the DVD, an excellent extra I saw is an interview with both Takashi Miike (who directed Ichi the Killer) and Masato Tanno (who directed 1-Ichi) discussing making 1-Ichi and the actors.
