Member The Amazing Psycho Per Posted January 16, 2008 Member Share Posted January 16, 2008 The story: A virus is spreading in Scotland and to contain it, the British governement deceides to build a wall around Scotland, sealing the whole country with everyone with it, in hope to contain the outbreak... 25 years later the virus is now spreading people in London, so the governement deceides to send a team of specialist beyond the wall of Scotland, in hope to find the research results of a scientist who was close to find a cure to the virus. Of course, the team soon realize that they are not alone... It's from British director Neil Marshall to whom we owe Dog Soldiers and The Descent. The least we can say is that it has a VERY strong Escape from New York/Mad Max feel... http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/1809834146/video/5955640/20080115/148/5955640-100-flash-s.55154954-,5955640-100-wmv-s.55154946-,5955640-300-flash-s.55154956-,5955640-300-wmv-s.55154948-,5955640-700-flash-s.55154958-,5955640-700-wmv-s.55154951-,5955640-1000-flash-s.55154960-,5955640-1000-wmv-s.55154952-,5955641-2700-qtv-s.55154962-,5955641-6800-qtv-s.55154963-,5955641-10300-qtv-s.55154966- Now those Scots look pissed! Member Drunken Monk Posted January 17, 2008 Member Share Posted January 17, 2008 It all looks a bit cheesy to me. I did, however, view the trailer with the sound down courtesy of being in work.
Member daisho2004 Posted January 17, 2008 Member Share Posted January 17, 2008 I have to agree with you on this movie looking like an Escape from NY/Mad Max remake rolled into one. But it might really be worth checking out.
Member froffeecoffee Posted January 17, 2008 Member Share Posted January 17, 2008 All you have to do is check out director Neil Marshall's other 2 films to know this is one film to look forward to. In an interview he said no CGI for the stunts and there are some great stunt work here that recalls Mad Max 2 AKA The Road Warrior. He wanted a realistic look and for the audiences to see the stunt performers giving their best. Looking forward to this.
Member CrazyFrog Posted January 19, 2008 Member Share Posted January 19, 2008 Dog Soldiers was a great B-movie and Descent was just...wow. Morbid. This looks like Mad Max, obviously and also 28 Days Later , Death Race 2000, and even a little Aliens. I too like post-apocalypse stuff, so I'll see it even if its cheesy.
