Member TibetanWhiteCrane Posted December 23, 2007 Member Share Posted December 23, 2007 Casting non asians as asian characters is ridicilous!!! if it was blackface al jolson style today, we wouldn't hear the end of it!
Member AlbertV Posted December 23, 2007 Author Member Share Posted December 23, 2007 Actually, Kristin is half-Asian. Her mother was born in Indonesia and is of Chinese ancestry. Her father is Dutch ancestry. Plus she is a purple belt in karate so it helps she does know martial arts, unlike others who learn MA just for the movies. But I agree with you Tibetan. Had they casted Jessica Biel as originally rumored, that would have been beyond ridiculous IMO.

Member dragonherb Posted January 3, 2008 Member Share Posted January 3, 2008 Smallville's Lana, Kristin Kreuk, has been officially cast as Chun Li At least that could be a glimpse of hope IMO. She might be very suitable if she gets the right makeover and given a muscular body, she also needs to be toughen up without looking stupid of course. From the title of the new film, it seems as if we are going to learn about Chun Li's past and all. So who knows.

Member 5 Element Boxer Posted January 26, 2008 Member Share Posted January 26, 2008 Although Iam really looking forward to this, I feel that Kristin Kreuk's legs and ass aren't big enough for this role. Chun Li's supposed to have major back.

Moderator Asmo Posted April 13, 2008 Moderator Share Posted April 13, 2008 That's great! I'll bet they make him look the part, and actually look like Gen instead of some dude in a wig. Though it wouldn't take much more than a Pai Mei-ish costume.
