Member AlbertV Posted December 10, 2007 Member Share Posted December 10, 2007 I have the old Ground Zero/Xenon/Arena Home Video release on video (the ones they used to sell at Suncoast for $4.99 or lower). It is one of my favorite old school movies. John Cheung was excellent as the hero and Wilson Tong and Charlie Chan made excellent villains as the snake fist stylists. Also thought Pomson Shi was great as Cheung's master, the expert in Drunken Monkey Fists.
Member Morgoth Bauglir Posted December 10, 2007 Member Share Posted December 10, 2007 I have the Videoasia version which is uncut, but the picture quality is very poor. Seeing this movie uncut is the only way to see it.
Member fabhui Posted December 10, 2007 Member Share Posted December 10, 2007 The best version I have seen is the version FLK put out. It's uncut, widescreen and a decent print too!
Member will91XingYu Posted December 11, 2007 Member Share Posted December 11, 2007 This is a great movie. Love the end fight, Wilson Tong is the man in this film.
Member Iron_Jinon Posted December 11, 2007 Member Share Posted December 11, 2007 I will not enjoy watching movies like this as much as in past...all cliches are in use here;master is killed, evil master does not kill student thinking he is never good enough to have revenge and student absorbs new style to kick ass..having said that, fight scenes in monkeys shadow are topclass.snake is great style to watch and rarely has been so finely performed on-screen as in this flick:)
