Guest waywardsage
I was wondering if anyone knows if there will be DECENT US releases of Master Yamada's films: The Twilight Samurai, The Hidden Blade, and Love and Honor. The US releases of the first two are terrible. These films are simply AMAZING. They have gotten very poor treatment in the US. Does anyone know where we can get decent releases? Or when there will be a decent release? I supposed Criterion usually only does older films. But I wish they would visit Master Yamada's work. I already know about the quality on Twilight Samurai, but how is the quality on Hidden Blade release by Tartan Asia? http://www.hkflix.com/xq/asp/filmID.538381/qx/details.htm
Guest waywardsage
After surfing around on the www.hkfilms.com site I noticed you could potentially fall into alot of pitfalls. There are various different regions and limitations on what countries different editions can ship to.... It sucks that DVD distributors treat us asian film fans like 8 year olds. I wished they would allow smaller studios to distribute decent editions that are true to the original filmmakers vision. With decent special features and decent transfers.
