Obviously, I have not updated this particular thread in a while, but when I saw an old timer recently rejoin the forum, I decided to take stock of the earliest members to see who was still around. I made a list of members who joined the forum the first two weeks after it transitioned from ezBoard to KFC in October 2007. I came up with 112 posters (with a post count of 100 posts or more). Of those 112 members, 24 were active – just today – Wow! That’s roughly 22%. Now, that is dedication. In the last 3 months, 40 of 112 (36%) have been active. Again, that’s some serious commitment. My hats off to all of you for hanging around this place for the last 15 years (or more). The list I created is below. Brings me back all the excitement and memories from the days I discovered this community, it was a blast for me back in the day as I was an "isolated fan" lol. There was no kung fu scene nor specialized stores were I lived, only a small videoclub with a couple of titles on the shelves. Didn´t know about Sammo Hung, Shaw Brothers, nothing. Just about a couple of Jackie and independent old kung fu films. I think I read avidly like most of the ezboard forum, must been year 02 or so... seem to remember it had some sort of limitation to the pages you could surf back (maybe 99? or some hundred? don´t remember). I began just asking questions, quite timidly ´cause I was intimidated if they had been answered before. I remember my first guru was a member with the "captain caveman" or "caveman" nick. I still check in every day, even if I don’t have anything to say. It seems lately there just isn’t enough time in the day to watch movies and talk about them. A part of me wishes I was closer to retirement age…. Anyway, yes 2007 I think was when I joined KFC. I was searching the internet for answers about a recent DVD release for a Jackie movie. Found Asian Dvd guide forum a bit before, but they weren’t nearly as active. Talk about opening up a whole new world. I'm sure I’ll keep visiting this place till I’m dead.
