Guest Ching li
For me it's between The Chinese Boxer and Boxer from shantung
Guest Stuntman Jules
VENGEANCE and BOXER FROM SHANTUNG both equal Sam Peckinpah or Kinji Fukasaku in terms of rough, gritty violence. However, the most sickeningly violent Shaw is probably LOST SOULS.
Guest iron flag
Return of the One Armed Swordsman and Masked Avengers are both good and bloody!
Guest Chinatown Kid
Masked Avengers is definately one of the most dark and bloody Venoms films going. Also 5 Element Ninja which has the guy fighting with his intestines dangling out of his stomach. The Duel had alot of graphic knifeings, axings and shootings, and Boxer Rebellion had a lot of blooding killings as well. If Chang Cheh was directing, chances are your going to see alot of blood and deaths. Rather morbid topic huh, but of course we know it's all fake and escapist entertainment so I don't feel bad. Member The Dragon Posted January 6, 2008 Member Share Posted January 6, 2008 I have a film I've just finished watching that I'd now like to add to this list... The Casino, starring Yueh Hua and Shih Kien. The film is a gambling film from the early 70's, and once again ole' Han is a baddie. Yueh is the hero, and the lovely Lily Ho is his love interest. The smash-up ending involves knives, guns, bayonets, and furniture put to great use! Lol.

Member venoms5 Posted January 7, 2008 Member Share Posted January 7, 2008 I can't believe I forgot the gore soaked OATH OF DEATH (1971)! That final shot is hilarious! I couldn't stop laughing. When you think about it, just about any Shaw Brothers swordplay movie is going to have a lot of bloody violence in it.
