Guest lousy
Is Shaolin vs. Wu-Tang a Shaw Bros movie? I always assumed it was, based on the cast and when it was made, but I've seen a lot of Shaw filmographies where it wasn't listed. Then, when I started thinking about it, all the versions of it I've ever seen start really abruptly, so I never saw the Shaw intro/logo before it started. I just assumed it got cut off. Guest kungfusamurai
Short answer: Nope. Long answer: filmed on Shaw lots by Shaw director Lau Kar Leung and Shaw actors, but produced and I think distributed via Lau's own film company. Did he do any other productions via that company, or was it some kind of tax write-off? KFS
Guest lousy
Thanks. That's what I was afraid of. What are the odds we'll ever see a remastered version of it? I was really hoping it was a Shaw movie so we'd get a Celestial/IVL release. I was starting to worry it wasn't a Shaw flick since I haven't seen one by now. Guest Karlos
KFS is 100% correct - SB had a few co's under it's belt purely for tax evasion purposes. If memory serves, wasn't SvWT a "Red Sun" production? A fair few films were shot at SB studios, by SB and put out by "other" companies. Standard practice in HK/China, I've been told!! Member Brigadier Chow Posted June 27, 2007 Member Share Posted June 27, 2007 I believe SvsWT was produced by "Hing Fat" studio.
Guest 2bnumber1
Hopefully some other company like Fortune Star picks it up and puts out a remastered DVD. In the meantime, I know it's not much of a consolation, but you'll find my 94 second version of Shaolin vs Wu-Tang here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ALimMds9JU:lol
Guest Markgway
I believe SvsWT was produced by "Hing Fat" studio. You're right. I actually have it down as Hing Fat but never checked when I said Lau Bros (Carry on Wise Guy).

Member Blood Sword Posted October 23, 2010 Member Share Posted October 23, 2010 Am I only who thinks almost non-violent ending was quite silly? WLW kicking bucket would have made better closing for case....
