Guest falkor
You rank Wei Pai's performance last... Surprised you liked Toad the best... I see you wasn't too impressed with Gecko, either. I think Chiang Sheng was a bit lazy just using that...
Guest Chinatown Kid
Well actually I like The Scorpion the best but admit I'm biased because I'm a TKD stylist. I ranked them that way because that's how they seemed to be portrayed in the film, from the most powerful to the least powerful. The Gecko style just didn't seem too deadly with the gimmick of climbing up walls and The Snake probably should have ranked 4 instead of 5 but I prefer Kuo Chui over Wei Pei and think he's more talented. Guest falkor
And after analysing the fight scenes, I've actually changed my mind about the rankings: 1) Centipede 2) Scorpion 3) Snake 4) Toad 5) Lizard
Guest Chinatown Kid
Yeah the Centipede was damn fast, but the Toad seemed pretty much invincible and couldn't be defeated till the Scorpion found his weak spot. That's why I put him #1.
Guest CLFNole
Not sure why everyone puts the scorpion so high, afterall he as zero hand ability. Yeah he could kick well but he needed to use hidden weapons to compensate for lack of kuen faht. He also goes down pretty quick to the lizard in the end. Guest Chinatown Kid
Well you know why I rank him high Nole. Didn't the Snake sneak up behind the Scorpion and stick his fingers in his guts? Seems like the lizard and the Hybrid Venom Chaing Sheng double teamed up on the Scorpion after that and finished him off. Anyways, your right Sun Chien's hand skills were practically non-existant and his character went down just like the Centipede in the finale, but damn that Scorpion sure was sneaky! Guest CLFNole
Chinatown Kid: Yes I do know why you like him. While I like Sun Chien he had limited utility since he lacks both fist skills and weapons skills. But he could definately kick well. My fav role of his in Crippled Avengers and Invincible Shaolin. I have never liked Wei Pei in any of the venoms movies.

Guest Cesare
I am new to the genre and I know *very little* about martial arts. To me it's mainly about the characters themselves. OK - here we go: 1 - Snake. Forgive me, folks, but I actually do like Wei Pai. Especially in 5 Deadly Venoms. The character was interesting and IMHO well acted out. The fighting style was - how would I put it - stylish...;-) And although Wei Pai may not fool more experienced viewers, he seemed deadly enough to me in this particular role - not to mention I liked Snake's flashy image...;-) Classy villain, my cup of tea...;-) 2 - Toad. The style itself may not be that interesting, but Lo Meng made it look awesome. Lo Meng in general is one of my fave Venoms - and moreover, Toad was a very likeable guy. Someone you'd like to share a drink and a story with...:-) 3-4 - Scorpion. Simply because he more or less outwitted them all. And those kicks were really impressive. 3-4 - Lizard. I was not that much into this wall-climbing stuff, but Lizard on my list ranks the same as Scorpion. Lizard may be your more or less standard good guy, not the most interesting character in the whole bunch - but Kuo Chui is quite a charismatic actor and he made the Lizard probably the easiest character to identify with... 5 - Centipede. I almost feel bad for ranking Centipede so low... Because I really think Lu Feng was brilliant... It's just that I cared for this particular character the least... Damn, that was lengthy. An old thread, I know - but I couldn't resist...:-)

Guest stormybman
This is how I break it down. Like a fighter preparing for a match you need to assess the opponent's strengths and weaknesses, and how effective/dangerous they are as far as the threat for your ability to have any success against them... 1. Toad 2.Centipede 3.Snake 4.Lizard 5.Scorpion The rankings I selected have a great deal to do with effectiveness when fighting... It's hard to compete with the Toad with his inpenetrable skin and the strength he has. The unmatchable speed of Centipede ranks him a close second, however, the way to defeat speed is to " close the gap " , and utilize strength /power. Fatigue will wear on speed. The Snake's effectiveness in close proximity allocates danger for any foe... The Lizard's agility will go a long way to preserve one's safety in battle, with evasiveness... With little or no other usage besides trickery, the Scorpion is limited and if the leg(s) is/are wounded, he is severely hampered, and at the greatest disadvantage. It would be advisable for the Scorpion to take a second skill to compensate for the limits of kicking. Possibly Snake to be effective with hand and foot. 8) "Will you tell me what Teacher died of?..."
Guest sikmao
here's my list: 1. Kuo Chui - the Lizard 2. Lu Feng - Centipede 3. Lo Meng - Toad 4. Sun Chien - Scorpion 5. Wei Pai - Snake my reasoning is that Kuo, Lu & Chiang do most of the choreography, for their fight scenes. Kuo is also the "senior", when it comes to skill level, i believe. then it's Lu, Chiang & Lo, from what i've heard. Kuo just has the action so TIGHT, it's incredible!! plus, he's a pretty good actor, imho. whereas, Lu has some great moves, but i don't think he's as good an actor. same with Chiang Sheng & Lo Meng, (actually, i like both their acting abilities!). Sun Chien is only 'okay' in my book! while i REALLY don't like Wei Pai!!! i think he's the worst of the bunch, on ALL LEVELS!!! he can't act & he can't fight, imo, @ least not like any of those other cats!! on second thought, i'd put Lo up there with Lu. Lo's got skill & acting ability! well, there you have it.
Guest Soda drink
1. Toad 2. Centipede 3. Scorpion 4. Gecko/Lizard 5. Snake Toad -- Seriously nobody would have been able to take him down one-on-one or even against two. I mean his only weakness was his ears, so all Toad had to worry about was guarding his ears while his opponents had to worry about their entire body, lol. A major psychological advantage... Centipede -- His style is the most dangerous in my opinion. Those centipede burst attacks would drop an elephant. Scorpion -- One kick from him sent Centipede out the door and out for a good while. And he literally left his footprint in Snake's forehead. Luckily, Chiang Sheng's character trained under the Toad style or else his head would have been a crushed melon when Scorpion hit him with that flying sidekick. Lizard -- I guess it was best for an evasive and a defensive fight but Lizard did not have the one hitter-quitter like the other venoms. Snake -- His style is tricky but way too stylized to be effective against the others. I am convinced that if Snake and Scorpion went one-on-one, Scorpion would win 8 out of 10 times. It seemed like he always needed backup and was Centipede's bitch. lol.
Member Eastern Evil Posted June 26, 2014 Member Share Posted June 26, 2014 I hope there are some Venoms here that will like this. Here are my rankings for favorite Venoms styles for this movie. (Hope the lyrics help. ) Favorite #3. Scorpion ?v=38yAdE7UReg Kick the tail of death, you're the Scorpion. Speak your tale of death, oh great Scorpion. With your venom strong, you're outnumbered four to one. Within this disguise, they don't even know my name and which side I'm on, they're confused just the same. Friendly or enemy, a fierce killer I am trained crippled by a secret, and a chance of wealth and fame. I work alone. Once an evil deed is done, then it never ends. It goes on, and it goes on forever. Thunder. Lightning strikes to the ground like the Scorpion. Sting and strike, hiding in the night, he's the Scorpion. Death Venom, inject it, you'll die by the Scorpion. Sting and strike, hiding in the night, he's the Scorpion. Your Poison! Kick the tail of death, you're the Scorpion. Fight when you can't hide like a scorpion. A trust that was just broke, the toad will soon croak. Everything is growing dark, justice has turned its head. Behind the masked face you were... my friend. I stand my ground, these hands are clean. The burden of betrayal crawls on his belly. FIGHT! Fear not steel, nor point, nor blade over my skin which would not break. But, I felt the embrace of 1000 legs and the stinging kiss of the snake. Just my opinion, but anyone that loves The Venoms & music of this style should give it a shot.
