Legend of Sambo (2024?) Wolfgang Cerny, Dmitry Pavlenko

A new film was shot last year about the origins of the Russian martial art Sambo and its founders, Viktor Spridonov and Vasili Oschepkov. The latter studied Judo under its founder Jigoro Kano.

I learned about this when I interviewed Austrian actor Wolfgang Cerny, who plays Oschepkov, and is a martial artist himself ( boxing, Pentjak Silat, Arnis, and Escrima) about films he worked on. 

The film should be coming out sometime this year... hopefully it will get an international release.
