Member PandaPawPaw Posted October 8 Member Share Posted October 8 (edited) The new updated version of Ranma ½ is pretty much what you'd expect with a pretty solid first ep though I'm not too sure about the OP/ED songs yet. The visuals are great with bright and colour scenes and the voice acting is tops as expected. New OP/ED. OG OP1/ED1. Member PandaPawPaw Posted October 9 Member Share Posted October 9 (edited) Some of the wonky animation in ep 2 of Uzumaki. Producer Jason DeMarco sheds some light on the issue. The first ep was so promising. I think 3D models were used for the 1st and fuck knows what for the 2nd. Member PandaPawPaw Posted October 13 Member Share Posted October 13 (edited) MAL - Wild 7 - "An elite police crime fighting team is formed using convicted criminals. Using their first hand knowledge of the criminal mindset, the Wild 7 are first sent after a gang of Bank robbers. Then in Wild Biker Knights they are sent after a huge crime syndicate that has many high powered government officials in its deep pockets." This was OK with the first ep being the best. The story is meh but the action and animation was pretty good. I think I have the live action movie somewhere which I'll have to give a watch sometime. 6/10. MAL - Ani x Para: Anata no Hero wa Dare desu ka (Animation × Paralympic: Who Is Your Hero?) - "NHK specials on parasports. The first episode covers blind soccer, with character designs by Yoichi Takahashi (from the Captain Tsubasa fame). And the second episode covers a female sprinter with a prosthetic leg, with character designs by Eisaku Kubonouchi (from the Hungry Days: Aoharu ka yo. fame). The specials featured interviews, coverage of the Paralympics, and an animated segment. This MAL entry will cover only the animated segment. " This is a pretty great series featuring different characters from Anime and sport which is produced by NHK. It's respectfully done and it's great learning about the challenges that each sport entails and how the athletes adapt to them. There's 18 eps so far and seems to be released sporadically. 7/10. Some eps can be found here - NHK Animation x Paralympic. Edited October 13 by PandaPawPaw
Member Drunken Monk Posted October 16 Member Share Posted October 16 It's not quite Anime, but this seemed like a suitable thread. I absolutely adored the first season of this so I'm glad it's coming back for one last season.

Member PandaPawPaw Posted Friday at 10:26 PM Member Share Posted Friday at 10:26 PM (edited) I had no idea there was a remastered Blu of Cyber City! I only stumbled across it as I was reading up about the lost negs and they were finally found last year! The Blu looks great and includes the OG Japanese dub/US dub and the best of all, the UK dub with the McFarlane soundtrack! Caps ep1: Spoiler It always bugged me how the 'OE' does not line up with the 'DO'. Caps ep2: Spoiler Caps ep3: Spoiler I LOVE THIS ANIME! Member laagi Posted Saturday at 08:10 PM Member Share Posted Saturday at 08:10 PM I was just looking for an easy and pleasant watch without a overlong runtime along with a good story and great visuals. The Umbrella Fairy one of the latest chinese entries in the Anime market definitely deliveries in that aspect! For the most part it looks absolutely gorgeous although almost a bit too artificial at times. I'm an old school guys who likes his Anime hand drawn. The premise is rather basic but does offer a bit more than probably meets the eye. Also I wasn't too much a fan of the over melodramatic approach. But truth be told they got me in the end and I had to hold back at least a teeny-weeny tear. There you happy now lol. I think this could also easily be watched by a younger audience with their parents or as a family. It's overall very PG if you know what I mean. Still I liked it and would recommend it nonetheless! Member PandaPawPaw Posted Sunday at 07:17 PM Member Share Posted Sunday at 07:17 PM Well Uzumaki turned into a complete shit show and went from a 7 to a 5 (maybe even a 4)! The show never recovered after the poor 2nd ep even though ep3 showed some promise but the pacing issues, varied animation quality and boring end just turned this whole thing into a dumpster fire. It stopped being unsettling for me and became almost unintentionally funny at times in a WTF is going on type of way. A real shame as I really enjoyed that first ep. Member Drunken Monk Posted Monday at 03:34 PM Member Share Posted Monday at 03:34 PM As far as art style, this looks quite Castlevania-ish. Just a little more vibrant...
