Moderator One Armed Boxer Posted August 4, 2023 Moderator Share Posted August 4, 2023 In case you didn't get your fill of South Korean 'diplomat in peril overseas' flicks with 2021's 'Escape from Mogadishu' and 2022's 'The Point Men' (one of @laagi's personal favourites), fear not, in 2023 Kim Seong-hun is here to keep it going with 'Ransomed'! With Somalia and Afghanistan crossed off the list, this time it's Lebanon's turn! I gave it the full review treatment over at COF - https://cityonfire.com/ransomed-aka-unofficial-operation-2023-review-diplomat-in-peril-overseas-paul-bramhall/
Member laagi Posted August 4, 2023 Member Share Posted August 4, 2023 (edited) I stopped bothering with these tbh. I don't know why Korea feels the need to join the likes of China with these Middle East hostage flicks. If I'd feel malicious I'd say it's just cheap propaganda! Anyway, thanks for the review. Looks like I'm not missing much lol. In case you want more I can recommend Guy Ritchie's The Covenant. It's not without its flaws but certainly better than most with a similar subject matter. Member PandaPawPaw Posted August 4, 2023 Member Share Posted August 4, 2023 I want Ritchie to make another Lock Stock/Snatch type movie. Still two of his best.
