Member AlbertV Posted April 20, 2023 Member Share Posted April 20, 2023 Hailing from Boston, Jason Yee started martial arts as a youngster and he would become the 1st American to win a medal at the First World San-Shou Free-Fighting Championship in Beijing. In 1997 in Orlando, he fought Cung Le in a San-Shou style fight, which went the distance and Le would be the winner. The two had such respect for each other that Yee brought Le in to appear in his film debut, Dark Assassin shot in 2001 and released in 2005. Yee would also star in a martial arts film noir, The Girl from the Naked Eye, which also stars Ron Yuan, Lateef Crowder, and Sasha Grey. The film even has an Oldboy-inspired fight scene minus the hammer. He will be appearing in an upcoming film, Way of the Empty Hand, which co-stars Simon Rhee, Andy Cheng and Robin Shou.
