Guest angryguest
There used to be a thread that mentioned this. Does anyone know where I can find it? Or around what date does Celestial/IVL decide to switch? Thanks.
Guest VonHumboldtFleischer
DVD-5? That's great. It looks like Celestial's indifference to their customers is gradually turning into naked contempt. This time next year they'll be releasing their movies on Betamax. Sheesh. Guest oldeschool17
well its not like the releases lately have enough material to warrant a dvd9 release. i mean how much more bare bones can ivl get where sometimes they dont even include a trailer of the dvd they are selling whether it be orginal, new, or both. i mean is it that much cheaper to buy single layer discs in bulk vs dual layer? Guest PaulyOne
they switched to dvd-5 a long time ago, I believe it was around the release date of Naval Commandos on DVD (feb 22, 2006).

Guest sandpalm79
ironically, when they switched to dvd5 the quality seems to have gotten much better! I mean life gamble is so much clearer than 36th chamber in my eyes and llife gamble is older.. thoughts?
Guest thejadefacedassassin
The question is when they repress the older titles which were once on D9, will it now be in D5? Will slipcases still be provided for these older titles that once had them?
Guest VonHumboldtFleischer
I think we've seen the last of the slipcases.
