The cat is out of the bag! A while back, Michael Jai White and Scott Adkins announced they are working on a new film together. The film may been revealed and it is the sequel to 2021's One Shot, titled One More Shot. The film is in production, directed by James Nunn, who directed One Shot and had worked with Adkins on Eliminators and Green Street Hooligans: Underground. If White is involved with this film, then it sounds like it's got some amazing potential.

imdb already has quite a bit of cast information:

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt27110516/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0_tt_8_nm_0_q_one%20more%20shot

Besides Adkins, Waleed Elgadi (Amin Mansur, i.e. the prisoner to be escorted) also returns from the first film.

Other than the aforementioned Michael J. White, the cast includes Tom Berenger and Alexis Knapp.

The movie premieres 12 January on Sky Cinema.

Michael Jai White is now confirmed to play the main bad guy, and Scott's Jake Harris seems to be in an ass-kicking mood.

It released on digital on 10 January in a number of countries, including Australia and New Zealand, half of Europe and most of Central and South America.

I've watched it. It's good, but I think I liked the first one better. Not sury why, maybe the setting, but I also feel it was easier to follow all the action in the original.

There are some pretty cool sequences in this one as well though.

Although he's given second billing, Michael Jai White actually isn't featured much. If at the end of the movie you asked me who the 'main bad guy' is I'd say a different character, who ultimately has a more pervasive and nastier presence throughout the proceedings.

I'm in no rush to watch this sequel to be honest. Wasn't a fan of the first one so I doubt this will win me over.

I think it's funny reading through various web-based reviews how some praise it to be "the best movie of 2024". Although that means literally nothing since we just got started.

While others calling it the biggest Adkins turkey yet. Gotta love a movie for this fact alone!

I'm curious to hear more thoughts from my fellow FU brothers and sisters. Especially the one who had a lot of praise for the first one. Looking at you @One Armed Boxer

BTW, I'm not sure this is true but I've read that there will be another last? part making this an official trilogy called 'One Last Shot'. Which is by all means a marketing genius lol.

I know it’s ridiculously lazy of me, but can I take your quote as my own - “I'm in no rush to watch this sequel to be honest.”

Thats the problem with these wannabe reviewers who just review what they want. :tongueout

Where did you read that?

Read may have been the wrong word lol. The YouTuber below mentioned it in his review ;)

It seems I've gone against the grain a little on this one. Accidentally, of course. The internet is buzzing about One More Shot and I found it to be distinctly average.
The problem is that it falls victim to its forced gimmick. Oftentimes, the action looks sloppy and awkward because they're not cutting and setting things up properly. At times it looks like punches and knees miss entirely or, when they do hit, they look light as a feather.
Now this isn't to say I didn't find the film entertaining. I did. If Leterboxd let me, I'd give it 2.75 stars but since it doesn't deserve 3 stars, I ended up giving it 2.5.

Aaron Toney and Scott Adkins shine and their fights are really the highlight of the film. I also enjoyed Michael Jai White fighting Adkins but, fucking hell, MJW is wasted here. He's in the film for a total of about 7 minutes. It's an odd choice.

So while I enjoyed the film, it doesn't really do anything new and it's hindered by its constraints. Nunn's a great director but he needs to let himself shine. I hope he goes on to just make a really good action film without any gimmicks. One More Shot is a good effort but it doesn't best the first film and just doesn't quite deliver the goods. The best scene in the whole thing is when Adkins becomes this force of nature, dwelling in the shadows and covertly taking out bad guys. It's really cool.

Anyway, I hope everyone likes it more than I did.

I finally got around to it! Review over at COF -

On a sidenote, is this the least talked about Scott Adkins movie in the history of Kung Fu Fandom!? Even 2020's 'Dead Reckoning' has a higher post count!

Completely agree with this, I actually made the exact same observation.
