Member HeavenSword Posted December 22, 2022 Member Share Posted December 22, 2022 (edited) Thought this would be pretty fun to see everyone’s ultimate Shaw set ! If you’d like a certain genre set , films highlighting a director / actor or just some hidden gems ! This is a comedy set I think would be pretty cool ( because to me the comedy isn’t too grating in these lol ) Girl With The Diamond Slipper The Flying Mr. B Shaolin Rescurers Twinkle Twinkle Lucky Star Treasure Hunters Lady Is The Boss Coward Bastard Winner Take All The Millionaire Chase We Love Millionaires The Rebellious Son The Kid With A Tattoo Fast Fingers Girl With The Diamond Slipper and The Flying Mr B are personal classics to me. The only reason Coward Bastard is here is because it’s always a treat to see Yuen Wah fight , plus he has a pretty big role. We Love Millionaires and The Millionaire Chase star Lily Ho…enough said ( plus the movies are pretty hilarious and classics to me as well). Fast Fingers because you gotta throw some Chin Siu Ho in there 😎 Twinkle Twinkle and Flying Mr B have Cherie Chung ♥️ And Lady Is The Boss is WAY better than My Young Auntie and actually funny. Another good thing is all of the films also have fight scenes ! Edited December 22, 2022 by HeavenSword
Member morpheus Posted December 23, 2022 Member Share Posted December 23, 2022 What is the limit on the number of films? Creating a limit will make this more of a challenge.
Member HeavenSword Posted December 23, 2022 Author Member Share Posted December 23, 2022 (edited) I think 10 or 12 is a solid number. which means I’d probably take out Coward Bastard or The Rebellious Son. My box would be green also 😎 Edited December 23, 2022 by HeavenSword

Member Ah_Tao Posted December 23, 2022 Member Share Posted December 23, 2022 (edited) This is a really cool idea and I had to pick from multiple ones I came up with in my head lol. So here's my favorite for today. Korean Kicks Meet Hong Kong Filmmaking: Korean Martial Arts in Golden Harvest DISC 1: Hapkido/ When Taekwondo Strikes DISC 2: The Association/ The Dragon Tamers DISC 3: The Shaolin Plot/ Warriors Two DISC 4: The Young Master/ Dragon Lord DISC 5: The Way of the Dragon/ Yellow Faced Tiger DISC 6: The Skyhawk DISC 7: Hand of Death/ Tiger of Northland DISC 8: Stoner This is all I have for now, please let me know if should add any others. You might be wondering why I added some of these. Disc 5 for example revolves around Chuck Norris, whose style and kicks all come from Tang Soo Do. Disc 6 is there because, well, if you look at the choreography of the fights, they're mostly Hapkido-centric. Carter Wong and Hwang In-Shik dish out the arm locks and throws- with little to no Hung Gar to be found. Edited December 23, 2022 by Ah_Tao I goofed and realized this was Shaw only so I apologize!!!

Member saltysam Posted December 24, 2022 Member Share Posted December 24, 2022 As long as the mythical set includes Sacred Knives Of Vengeance and Anonymous Heroes then it's all good.

Member ironfistedmonk Posted December 30, 2022 Member Share Posted December 30, 2022 The first 2 releases have been Chang Cheh and Liu Chia Liang heavy, so I'd like to see some from the lesser known action guys like Sun Chung and Tang Chia, I'd go with Avenging Eagle Deadly Breaking Sword Kung Fu Instructor To Kill a Mastermind Shaolin Prince Shaolin Intruders Opium and the Kung Fu Master The Master (3 Evil Masters) Lovers Blades Kid From Kwantung Boxer From the Temple Clans of Intrigue Gang Master Clan Feuds
Member OpiumKungFuCracker Posted December 30, 2022 Member Share Posted December 30, 2022 I’d probably go with the sex comedy titles from Shaw brothers.

You have built the Shawscope volumes 3, 4 and 5 here ! There should also be a volume devoted to Chen Kuan Tai another one devoted to Chi Kuan Chun and another one to Fu Sheng. Actually, Arrow should release the entire catalogue, including those from the ZiiEagle and those that should have been in the ZiiEagle and weren't in it, and alos those that are mentioned in the IVL dvds' filmmographies as being released by Celestial but that we never saw, the only title I remember for the moment is Naked love, but there are other titles too.
