Now, David Howard Thornton plays the titular "mean one" in a horror film inspired by Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas... 20 years ago, The Mean One killed Cindy You-Know-Who's parents in front of her in the town of Niceville. Flash forward to present day, an adult Cindy is back in town, knowing that the Mean One will arrive and start another killing spree, prompting her to not only try to save Niceville, but avenge her parents' deaths. The film is getting a limited theatrical release on December 9. TRIVIA: Thornton was actually an understudy during a live nationwide theater presentation of The Grinch. He studied the character's movements under his friend, the late Stefan Karl (Robbie Rotten from Lazytown), who played the Grinch on the stage.
