Christian Anders may be known as a pop star in Germany, but his humble origins go way back. He's actually Italian, born Antonio Augusto Tenicolo. Born in Austria on January 15, 1945, he grew up in Italy, the son of a consul to Sardinia. When he was ten, his parents divorced and he left with his mother to Germany. There, he was bullied and had always gotten into fights to stand up for himself. This led him to get beaten up more and he decided to take up karate. His first martial arts teacher was Mike Anderson, an American who along with Georg Bruckner, brought full-contact karate to Germany. Antonio began learning Kyokushin-kai Karate and it helped him become more disciplined.

At the same time he already became a pop star using the name "Christian Anders", he was asked to make Germany's 1st martial arts film, Roots of Evil in 1979. He became friends with Sean Connery at the time when he lived in Marbella, Spain for four years. At Connery's suggestion, Anders headed to Madrid and met Tony Tarruella, who ran O'Dell Productions. The duo collaborated on Roots of Evil with Tarruella credited as co-director and Anders credited as director, writer, star, and even composing the score with Jose Luis Navarro.

Anders would appear in John Liu's Ninja in the Claws of the C.I.A. and a few other films in Germany before focusing solely on his music career...and conspiracy theories.

Last year, Christian Anders attended a dojo and helped train students in their reaction speed as he kept being able to hit them before they can block.
