RIP one of the great Shaw Brothers directors.

His role as the main villain in Police Story is where I first properly became aware of him.

One of the best Directors of Shaw Brothers ,I hope the publishersin Hong Kong or elsewhere will release the "Golden blade " movie from him.

Which Golden Blade ? Do you mean Cold Blade ? Is it an aka ?

He is praised for his Shaws movies, but he also directed good old Cantonese movies such as A deadly night, The black rose, Remorse, Spy with my face, The thief with a baby face, A fatal adventure, Man from Interpol, Purple night, Rhapsody, He joys and sorrows of youth, Wise wives and foolish husbands (with a young Bruce Lee), The deadly sword.

I hope that finally people will rediscover Chu Yuan's works. RIP great master.

Hopefully this a good sign that his sadly neglected filmography will be addressed in forthcoming box sets from Arrow.

Like Omni, I was mainly familiar with Chor Yuen thanks to his villainous role in Police Story but have since come to realize his overall contribution to Hong Kong cinema, thanks to his directorial works at Shaw Brothers. RIP
