I remember seeing the finale of a movie when I was a bit younger on TV and when I rented the VHS, it seemed cut (maybe it was the wrong movie but I doubt it):

All I remember is Steven fighting with a black guy in a lift (or something) and he gouges his eyes out.

Definately Marked for Death.

The UK versions cut the bit where Steve gouges out Screwface's eyes (complete with squelchy sound effect) and the subsequent back break (complete with crunchy sound effect).

The R1 and European (16:9) releases are uncut.

Well, no wonder the VHS missed it;) .

Checked out DVD Compare and subsequently; IMDB reports R1 being cut - I've reported this to 'DVD Compare' Forum.

It leaves the Dutch DVD as the only uncut version. Although who's to say this DVD isn't just another direct copy of other PAL versions available? User who submitted the info may have not checked for any cuts for this either - this is common on DVD Compare.

I have the French/Dutch DVD and it's uncut and anamorphic.

I used to have the R1 - and I don't remember any cuts.

I'm sure the eye-gouging was present. If it did happen to be cut it must've been by a matter of frames as I really didn't notice.

The UK DVD is cut only because Fox lazily submitted a pre-cut version to the BBFC (as they did with Rapid Fire).

Can anyone confirm cuts to R1 release? Even if it isn't the eye-gouging, it'll be something else:( .

'French/Dutch'? Was only one DVD released for these two countries with different languages/titles for the movie:| ? What was the DVD title?

Thanks again Mark.

The DVD I have is dual language French/Dutch.

The title on the sleeve is 'Marked For Death' (Designe Pour Mourir)

Dutch discs usually retain the English title (here the French is in brackets).

I'm quite surprised to see all that weight he's put on:eek ! But that's kinda old news. Anyone seen his recent 'Orange' commercial that takes place on a golf course?

What movies can you recommend?

Very coincidental that 'Belly of the Beast' is on next week when I was looking through his filmographies and stuff this week and wanted to see this particular one (FIVE - Friday or Saturday night)!

Can you tell me what movies these came from:

1) A drive-by shooting (someone dead too I think) and the following scene is with a doctor or coroner (Earl Boen).

2) A guard threatens Seagal's beads in a restaurant.

3) At the end, Seagal goes into a casino and has a very brief fight with a guy in a concealed area (hidden with one-way glass).

4) Seagal has a fight in the finale and ends up knocking the guy off the 1st floor I think (in a large church-like building) and I think Seagal could only get out/downstairs by going out the window and back inside, it ends with Seagal and another guy leaving the building - all the cops are outside with the area sealed (takes place during the day).

What's the different between the 2004 and 2006 R1 DVD releases?

Ha, Roadhouse is a pretty good little flick. Sam Elliot's character was my favorite, is he cool or what? Swayze didn't do to bad but I think he's a better dancer than a martial artist, lol. When he was kicking that punching bag he had the weakest looking kicks I've ever seen, my grandmother can kick harder than that! :rollin

As far as Steven, he's become such a porker and Bela Lugosi lookalike that he's no longer believable as an action hero martial artist to me. His early movies did rock though, my favorites are Under Siege and Out for Justice.
